Igrene is the second pre-promoted sniper you get in ''The Binding Blade''. She joins somewhat late and as such, her bases are fairly high in most areas. While she does suffer from low growths as with most pre-promotes in the game, her bases more than make up for it. Her B rank in bows is unfortunate as it means she cannot wield Silver bows at base and an S rank will take a while to achieve, though Killer and Brave Bows are good enough to compensate.
 
As a sniper, Igrene suffers from not having a proper enemy phase. However, unlike in other GBA games, physical 1-2 range is fairly unreliable and the enemies are bulkier. As such, the game is more player phase-oriented, which benefits Igrene greatly. Another point in her favor is the high amount of powerful enemy fliers, notably [[Wyvern Rider]]s and [[Wyvern Lord]]s, though the enemy wyvern lords are generally too bulky for Igrene to dispatch without a crit. All this gives Igrene a fairly valuable niche for weakening enemies without needing to face a counterattack and being great against the many dangerous fliers in ''The Binding Blade''.
 
However, Igrene has a fair amount of flaws. While he lack of 1 range is not that bad, it still makes her enemy phase suffer. She is also not particularly bulky and she faces competition from other bow users, notably the Nomads [[Sin]] and [[Sue]], who also offer mounted utility.

Through support conversations, it is shown that Igrene is very good friends with Sophia and Fae, backed by the fact that she is their sole protector. In fact, to the both of them, she acts as sort of a kind and gentle mother figure, having had a child in the past.
