Before you begin this chapter, note Jake. He's packing an Arrowspate with 3-10 range that kills fliers, and Caeda doesn't have enough movement to get to him without spending a turn in his attack range. There are four solutions to this problem: reclass her, promote her, hope for a lucky dodge, or waste a Warp use. You get Linde and Jake to join you this chapter. Linde starts as a level 1 Mage and is rather difficult to train, but her semi-unique Aura tome can let her do some solid damage if she needs to. Jake is extremely valuable for his ability to attack at almost any range with no fear of reprisal. Also note that there are no reinforcements in this chapter, so what you see is what you get.
<big>Key Points Before Starting the Chapter:
</big>

When the chapter starts, immediately get out of the range of the enemy Ballisticians and shoot down the incoming Pegasus Knights. You're in a race with a Thief to reach the southeastern village; once you get there, clear out the Mercenaries, visit the village and Anna's house (she's directly to the left of the lake), and shop if you need to. Afterwards, you can head north and use a save point.
1. Jake:
* Be cautious around Jake. He possesses an Arrowspate with a range of 3-10 that is deadly against flying units. If Caeda is in your lineup, ensure she stays out of his range.
* Solutions: Reclass or promote Caeda. Rely on luck for Caeda to dodge his attack. Use a Warp.

If you use a Cavalier to hit the first Ballistician at two range, you will only cause one Horseman to aggro. Once the Horseman is dead, you can chip the Ballistician to death and advance. Next, you can use one of your Generals to pull in the Sniper with the Killer Bow and take him down. After that, pull in Khozen. Doing so will trigger the enemy Cavalier charge; pull back to the chokepoint and use your General to keep your units alive as you cut him down. Once the cavalry are dead, the battle is won. There are two spaces where Jake and the last Ballistician's blind spots overlap; use it to finish off your enemies and recruit Jake.
2. New Units:
* Linde: Starts as a level 1 Mage. Difficult to train but her Aura tome can deal solid damage.
* Jake: Highly valuable due to his extensive attack range without retaliation.

3. No reinforcements appear in this chapter.

<big>Chapter Walkthrough:</big>

1. Initial Actions:
* Start by moving units out of enemy Ballisticians’ range.
* Focus on eliminating incoming Pegasus Knights.

2. Race to the Southeastern Village:
* Ensure you reach the village before the Thief.
* Clear Mercenaries in the area.
* Visit both the village and Anna’s nearby house.
* Visit the shop if needed.

3. Heading North:
* Utilize the save point before proceeding further.

4. Strategy against Ballisticians:
* Engage the first Ballistician with a Cavalier at two spaces away. This move will only agitate one Horseman.
* Defeat the Horseman, then focus on the Ballistician.

5. Engaging Other Enemies:
* Use a General to attract the Sniper wielding the Killer Bow.
* Draw in Khozen next. This move triggers an enemy Cavalier charge.
* Retreat to the chokepoint. Use your General as a shield, preventing casualties, while dealing with the Cavalier.

6. Closing the Battle:
* With the Cavalier units defeated, you're in a dominant position.
* Make use of the two blind spots shared by Jake and the final Ballistician to defeat your remaining foes.
* Once it's safe, recruit Jake.
