We cut to Corrin, Azura, Sakura, Gunter, and Hayato approaching a man who appears to be the archduke, who eccentrically introduces himself as Izana; Hayato notices the informality of Izana's speech and asks if it's how all major world leaders behave, to which Sakura states Izana's a special case.  Corrin brings up the Seal of Flames, to which Izana denies knowing anything about it; Gunter states that he knows the person appearing to be Izana doesn't know about the Seal of Flame, then reveals him to be an impostor.  Revealing his true form, Zola states it's been awhile since he and Gunter interacted, to which Gunter knew it was Zola behind the magic making him appear to be Izana; Gunter states that Zola is a Nohrian mage specializing in illusions and deception, after which Corrin asks where the real Izana is, Zola states that Izana's been thrown in a jail cell.  As Zola states slang terms for jail cells, he remembers that it's time he uses Garon's ice bomb and calls his men to fire it; as Zola's underlings appear, the ice bomb goes off and freezes the village over, after which Corrin calls the army into action.  Preparations take place at this point.  Once preparations are finished, Azura states that Zola's troops have managed to encase the village in ice and that they'll have to break through, then states that the enemy may be using the ice as cover and tells Corrin's army to be careful; the battle begins at this point.

Once the battle ends, we find Corrin and Sakura cornering Zola at the entrance to the palace's execution chamber, to which Corrin states that his army has won and that Zola can't escape now, asking Zola to reveal where Izana is; Zola states that he has an escape plan and grabs Sakura, stating that Sakura is his hostage, then when asked by Corrin to let Sakura go, states that he'd rather win than be honorable and orders Corrin to put down his/her weapons. As Zola starts to reveal what he plans to do to Sakura should Corrin not put down his/her weapons, he is attacked by a tree-summoning magic which kills him; Leo arrives on the scene and states that Zola has disgraced the entire Nohrian army with his tactics. Corrin attempts to talk Leo into joining his/her cause, revealing what he/she can about their goals to deal with their common enemy, only for Leo to denounce Corrin as a traitor who abandoned his/her family, and that he's only in the area to deal with Zola and that he'll settle the score with Corrin another time; Leo then casts his magic toward an area behind Corrin, who assures Azura that he/she wasn't Leo's intended target of that casting of magic but also notes that the door to the banquet hall has seen better days, after which Leo states that Izana and Takumi should be inside the banquet hall. As Leo leaves the scene, Sakura notices that the people in the banquet hall have been tied up; once they've been freed, Izana eccentrically starts to introduce himself, to which Corrin states that he/she already knows these details, to which Sakura notices that the real Izana is even more eccentric than Zola. Izana then points Corrin's group toward Takumi, which results in an awkward exchange where Corrin and Sakura state that they're glad Takumi is OK, only for Takumi to denounce both of them as traitors and states that Ryoma would be devastated to hear of this; as Takumi states that he doesn't believe what Sakura told him about Corrin's plight, Izana states that he'll convince Takumi with his prophecies.

We cut to Izana channeling, telling Takumi that Corrin is not his enemy, after which Corrin states that he/she can't reveal every detail but that they came to Izumo hoping to learn of how to take on the mystery enemy; Izana states that he doesn't know anything about the Seal of Flames, but states that his family has a saying that they'll show the one who shuns both light and dark another way.  Izana states that he'll chat with the ancient gods for information; he returns exhausted and reveals that the message was a short one telling Corrin to meet a dragon. Izana then states that the price for this particular message was his life, and with his dying breath tells Takumi to help Corrin, and he'll haunt Takumi as a ghost if he refuses; as Corrin questions his/her decision to side with neither Hoshido nor Nohr, Takumi states that he'll be joining Corrin's cause--and with his services come those of his retainers, Hinata and Oboro, who promptly introduce themselves, after which Corrin states that they'll never forget Izana's sacrifice.
