Gaiden chapters in Shadow Dragon are meant to give struggling newcomers a breather, some experience, and a serviceable unit to replace their fallen comrades. This chapter sets the trend. After three chapters of suffering through Macedon's finest warriors, a band of ill-equipped, ill-trained pirate riffraff who literally run right into your waiting blades one or two at a time should be nothing to you. The enemies downgrade from H5's usual Steel weaponry to the more common Iron varieties. The only people who should really give you pause are the two Mercenaries with Armorslayers, who can make quick work of your Knights and Generals. Athena is very solid for a Myrmidon; she won't come out ahead against a properly trained Navarre, but she is certainly worth the deployment slot if you're running low on good units.
Overview:

Gaiden chapters in Shadow Dragon serve to aid newcomers, offering a break, opportunity for experience, and a replacement unit if needed. This chapter offers a gentler challenge compared to previous ones, pitting players against under-equipped Pirates instead of Macedon's elite.

Key Points:

# Enemy Equipment: The foes in this chapter mostly wield inferior Iron weaponry as opposed to the tougher Steel weapons often seen in H5.
# Threat Assessment: While most enemies are easily dispatched, beware of the two Mercenaries equipped with Armorslayers. They pose a threat to your Knights and Generals and should be engaged with caution.
# Unit Highlight - Athena: As a Myrmidon, Athena is solid. While a well-trained Navarre might outshine her, if your roster is small, Athena is a worthy addition to your units.

Strategy:

Take advantage of the pirates' lack of strategy, allowing them to come to you and be defeated easily. Prioritize neutralizing the Mercenaries with Armorslayers to safeguard your armored units. Utilize Athena's capabilities if in need of strong units. Remember, the Gaiden chapters are meant to be a reprieve. Use this opportunity to regroup and strengthen your forces for upcoming challenges.
