Owing to its comparable status as a personal class for specific characters, and the different traits of the characters in question, the Great Lord's stats typically vary from game to game.  Whereas Hector's version is reminiscent of the [[General]] in its possession of higher [[Strength]] and [[Defense]] at the expense of [[Speed]], Eirika and Ephraim's versions in {{title|The Sacred Stones}} have more in common with the [[Paladin]] as a mounted class.  The versions employed by [[Roy]], [[Chrom]] and [[Lucina]] in ''The Binding Blade'' and {{title|Awakening}} are more balanced and loosely resemble the [[Hero]] class.  As a general rule, all incarnations of the Great Lord are very competent and powerful classes.

Much as the statistical builds of the class vary on a personalized level, so too do the weapons to which they have access. Roy and Eirika both wield only [[sword]]s, Ephraim wields only [[lance (weapon)|lances]], Hector wields [[axe]]s with swords as a secondary weapon, and Chrom and Lucina wield swords and lances. No incarnation of the Great Lord has ever wielded bows or magic.
