Halvan was with the Fiana Freeblades on a job outside of Fiana when it was attacked by the forces of Munster led by Weissmann, during which Nanna and Mareeta were kidnapped by Raydrik. Halvan worked with the rest of the Freeblades to drive out Munster's forces, after which him and the other members of the Freeblades accompanied Leif to rescue the captives. Halvan was separated from Leif after their assault on Kelbeth fortress when Leif was captured by Raydrik. He along with Osian and Ronan were arrested by Hannibal, having been mistaken for bandits, and were held at Meath Castle. They were reunited with Leif when Leif sought refuge in Meath and explained that the captive Freeblades were his friends; there were released and rejoined Leif's liberation army. Later during their attack on Dagdar's bandits in Mount Violdrake Halvan could potentially persuade Marty to join them. Afterwards, Halvan accompanies Leif's liberation army until at least the liberation of Munster. His involvement, if any, with the war after Leif's forces merged with Seliph's is unknown, as he does not appear in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.
