You recruit Clanne and Framme this chapter. Clanne is a Mage, while Framme can heal, guard your allies with her Chain Guard ability, and do pitiful damage. They are perfectly functional for now, but ''Engage'' is not kind to its early joiners and you will get better options later on.

Start by having Vander weaken the Archer so Clanne can finish it off. Have Alear break the Axe Fighter and keep Framme to the south, outside of its range. On enemy phase, the Axe Fighter will attack Clanne. Note that Lumera becomes aggressive on her second turn. Have Clanne finish the Axe fighter, Framme heal Clanne, and Alear get ready to fight Lumera on enemy phase. As a reminder, Lumera will break Vander if she attacks him and will effectively get a free attack in on you. Don't let yourself get broken. On turn 3, have Clanne chip down Lumera, Framme heal Alear, and Alear finish Lumera off with Lodestar Rush.

On to the second phase of the battle. Lumera moves to the north half of the map and now wields Emblem Sigurd. Immediately check her skills, particularly Gallop (which gives her Mov+5 while engaged). If you don't keep this in mind, someone is going to get skewered. The game will explain Emblem energy to you and empty Alear's engage meter to demonstrate. Have Alear weaken the nearby Axe Fighter from the Emblem energy tile, Vander further weaken it from the forest, and Clanne deal the finishing blow. Mercifully, Lumera won't attack until you get in range of the Sword Cavaliers. A Lance Fighter and Archer will approach from the northwest. Have Vander break the Lance Fighter, Alear weaken it, and Clanne finish it. Don't bother Engaging yet - you want those turns available to use your Rapier on the Sword Cavaliers. On enemy phase, the Archer should attack Alear. Boxing it in and pummeling it to death should be trivial at this point. Just keep away from the Sword Cavaliers' range. Once the Archer is down, heal up. Move Vander one space outside the Sword Cavaliers' attack range and get Alear and Clanne ready to fight. Once Lumera makes her move, have Clanne chip her down (his magic ignores terrain bonuses if she Cantered into a thicket), have Vander attack a Sword Cavalier for a free experience point, and have Alear finish the map with a Lodestar Rush on Lumera.
