In this chapter, you gain Merric, a highly effective Mage, and Matthis, a Cavalier who fights like dog barf and is vastly inferior to a properly trained Abel. For the first time, you will have to bench units, so start thinking about who you find to be useless. Make sure to buy an Iron Sword for Navarre (or give him one from a unit you decide to bench) and a Fire tome for the incoming Merric. If Cain still has his base 6 Speed, he needs to be reclassed into a Myrmidon to avoid being doubled by the Fighters in this chapter.

At the start, send some cavalry to quickly dispatch the Thief near the armory and send everyone else to defend the northeast chokepoint. Stock up on Steel weapons while you have the chance. Have your cavalry move north to intercept the Hunter and the Thief. Try to have all of the enemies dealt with by the time the enemy cavalry reaches you. Make sure to keep Draug (or any other Knights you have) away from the Armorslayer.
