“ | I don't waste time. I take care of my weapons, my horse, and myself. And not just that–I also make sure our morale is good and our men are safe. | ” | — Kyle to Forde. |
---|
Kyle (Japanese: カイル, Kyle) is a knight who appears in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He is a cavalier of Renais, accompanying Ephraim in his fight against Grado.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Role
Kyle first appears in Chapter 5x, in which he, Forde, and Orson help Prince Ephraim take the Grado-occupied Fort Renvall. Despite their small numbers, the four manage to take the fort. Unfortunately, their victory is followed up by a visit from General Valter of Grado, and his military force, but Kyle, Forde and Ephraim successfully escape Valter's Wyvern Knights.
In Chapter 8, Kyle and company appear soon after Eirika arrives at Renvall. Sometime between the capture of Renvall and their escape from Valter, Orson betrays Renais. Kyle, Forde and Ephraim begin traveling to Grado's capitol but circle back and arrive to help Eirika in Renvall. Afterwards, Kyle goes with either Eirika or Ephraim after they decide to split up. He serves the army loyally to the end.

Personality and character
Kyle has a strong sense of duty as a knight. He focuses his entire life on training to better defend his country, never wasting a minute of his time. He has a tendency to be a bit paranoid, especially when it comes to the safety of Prince Ephraim and his fellow knights. He constantly worries about the Prince's well-being, and tries to force him out of the front lines whenever possible. In support conversations with Colm, it is revealed that Kyle regularly sends coded messages to the knights of Renais, telling of Eirika and Ephraim's safety. Kyle is very upfront, and speaks his mind about most everything, the exception being romantic feelings.
Kyle values his comrades on the warfront, honing in on their talents and using them to promote victory. For example, he utilizes Colm's stealthiness in obtaining secret information, and he develops new strategies using Lute's magical genius. He carries a bitter rivalry with Forde, and hates losing to him, though they're quite evenly matched.
Kyle was born a commoner of Renais. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to serve his country as a knight. He and Forde grew up together, starting as early as their years at the nursery, which Kyle supposedly made plans to take over. As a youngster, Kyle would always be the first to rush to the aid of a girl in need. Somewhere along the line, Ephraim joined Kyle's training sessions, and he and Kyle formed a bond closer to brotherhood. Kyle and Syrene met in Frelia ten years before the War of the Stones, therefore, in the year 793. Kyle was sent to deliver a letter to King Hayden, and encountered some bandits along the way. Kyle tried to drive them off singlehandedly, and was in trouble when Syrene came to his aid. She then showed him around Frelia, and he delighted in the sight of the sea, not having seen it because of the fact that Renais is a landlocked country.

Trivia
- Kyle has a sister named Mia, who lives in Frelia. This is not the same Mia that appears in Path of Radiance.
