She also gains a D-rank in bows, granting her a 2-range option for the player phase. This is not especially useful for the enemy phase, because melee enemies will attack Lyn without getting countered. But for the player phase, having access to bows can sometimes come in handy, particularly against durable enemies late into the game. That said, there are better bow users available, particularly Rath, who has a mount. The main issue is that Lyn did not need a 2-range option - she needed a 1-2 range option, and her promotion does not give her that. Still, once Lyn is promoted, she becomes a much better unit.

Despite her promotion bonuses, Lyn will not shine in the player's army. Other units will have already promoted by the time Lyn did, and they will have many statistical advantages over her. Most will be capable of doubling, just like her, and most will be more durable than her.
Lyn's endgame performance is subpar at best. She receives the Sol Katti to use in the last chapter, but this weapon is terrible. It has less might than a Silver Sword and weighs more than a Silver Axe. Since Lyn has constitution issues, using this weapon prevents her from doubling most enemies.

In Hector Hard Mode specifically, one late-game niche Lyn could have is doubling enemy Valkyries in Cog of Destiny. They are amazingly fast, and most player units cannot double them - some even get doubled in return.

Surprisingly, Lyn cannot easily reach the threshold needed to double them. Since her speed cap before promotion is 20, she will be stuck unpromoted for a while if trained. She will need several speed level-ups in her promoted class to reach the benchmark. Her 60% speed growth is good, but 60% is not 100%, therefore not guaranteed. Suppose Lyn does not gain enough level-ups, specifically speed level-ups. In that case, she cannot double these Valkyries - and without doubling them, she cannot one-round them. That is yet another niche Lyn could have that she struggles to reach.

Since EXP gain in Blazing Blade Hard Mode is sparse, especially for promoted units, reaching the threshold is even harder than one may think. And if Lyn uses a weapon that weighs her down, she may miss out on doubling even while reaching the speed threshold. This is a possible scenario since Lyn's constitution is still mediocre even after she promotes.

Lyn's durability issues also resurface here because the bosses in this chapter are immensely powerful. Lyn's defenses will still not be amazing at this stage of the game. Unless the player has used stat boosters like the Angelic Robe on Lyn, some bosses in the final chapter will one-shot her from full HP. If the player has not been lucky with Lyn's defensive level-ups, fighting any boss with her puts her at a huge risk of dying.

Overall, Lyn has a few advantages: a very high speed value in the early game and a strong personal weapon - the Mani Katti. She is also a highly available unit, trainable since the beginning of Lyn Mode. However, she has many significant issues impeding her performance. Lyn's has a mediocre constitution, low base strength, terrible durability, and poor weapon type selection. Even promotion and stat boosters do not completely nullify her weaknesses. She is difficult to use without getting her killed and has few situations where she excels. These issues leave Lyn as the weakest lord in The Blazing Blade and one of the worst units in the game.
