Sanctuary of Sorcery (Japanese: 魔道の聖域 Sanctuary of Magic) is the ninth chapter of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem Book II and Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.
Plot

Marth's army arrives in Khadein. In the meantime, Michalis leaves Minerva in a local village and explains his motivations for joining Dolhr in the previous war waged by Medeus. He declares he will free Maria and return her to Macedon, then leaves. At the same time, Khadein releases its army of mages and sends it to defeat Marth's forces, thus telling Marth that it sided with Archanea.
The battle begins, and during it, Marth may find Minerva in the village where Michalis left her. She tells him that Maria saved the life of Michalis, who in turn saved Minerva and brought her here before leaving to rescue Maria. Marth tells her that he needs the strength of her and Macedon on his side, then she joins his army. Following that, Marth's army defeats Khadein's forces led by Yodel and proceeds into the temple in search of Merric, suspecting that something may have happened to him.
