In front of the hideout of the Dandelion, a group of bandits led by Perne, [[Perne]] and [[Salem]] talk. They mention how Salem defected from the Loptian Order and was almost killed by it in retaliation, but Perne saved his life. Perne expresses a distate of the Loptian Order's actions, as he believes that trying to kill someone for daring to follow their own path is wrong. He then wonders why Salem would leave the order when it is so powerful, to which Salem responds that he simply disagrees with its ways. Perne expresses that he likes Salem's mindset and offers him to join the Dandelion. Salem replies by noting that Perne's bandits have an unusual sense of ethics which appeals to him, so as long as they preserve those ethics, he feels comfortable with joining. Perne admits that there are some newcomers to the Dandelion who are bloodthirsty, most notably [[Colho]], whom Salem also knows as a menace that attacks merchants and other travelers. The woman tells Mareeta that this cannot be the Dandelion, because the Dandelion do not plunder villages - they even helped their village in the past. She believes that the attackers are new to the area, and after learning this fact, Mareeta declares that she will protect the villagers. Once the battle ends, if it was completed quickly enough, [[Dryas]] suggests to [[Leif]] that he should purge this area of the bandits by attacking their hideout. In front of the hideout of the Dandelion, a group of bandits led by Perne, Perne and Salem talk. They mention how Salem defected from the Loptian Order and was almost killed by it in retaliation, but Perne saved his life. Perne expresses a distate of the Loptian Order's actions, as he believes that trying to kill someone for daring to follow their own path is wrong. Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Using the warp staff to conveniently complete the map is recommended considering the high concentration of forest tiles. However, it is also important to note that this chapter has the only Vantage Manual in the entire game—which may work well on a unit such as Olwen—as well as a vendor that sells Wind tomes, the next such vendor appearing in Chapter 21.
To complete the map without the warp staff, keep in mind that a Bridge Key is recommended (one of the Brigands here has one), and the chapter must be completed within 20 turns to reach the following sidequest. The Brigands are capable of stealing items, but they are basic enemies with Iron Axes and pose little to no threat. Salem can be recruited by capturing him and not releasing him; though he is not required for the sidequest, his C-rank staves can be helpful.
