Mogall

The Mogall (Japanese: ビグル Bigl) is an enemy-exclusive monster class which was introduced in Fire Emblem Gaiden and so far only appears in it and The Sacred Stones. They are a species of eerie floating eyeballs with tentacles whose bodies are filled with evil magic, and the lore of The Sacred Stones says that seeing one is a bad omen. Depending on the game, they attack either by physically ramming their foes or by casting dark spells.
In Gaiden, Mogall first appear late in Act 4 and, along with Deathgoyles and White Dragons are among the game's strongest and most dangerous monster enemies. Their high strength gives their ramming attacks good power and their excellent speed makes them very difficult, if not impossible, to double-attack against. They are summoned by the late-game bosses Judah and Duma, and themselves are each able to summon even more Mogall. With this ability a single Mogall can quickly become a swarm, and combined with their decent defense and avoid, they tend to be very difficult to deal with and they must be eliminated as quickly as possible after they appear to prevent their numbers from growing out of control.
Their appearance in The Sacred Stones reduced Mogall into a weaker, early-game class which wields the special dark spells Evil Eye and, less frequently, Crimson Eye. In terms of stats they resemble conventional human magic-wielding classes such as the Mage and Shaman, featuring high magic and decent speed and resistance, but also having very low HP and defense which leaves them very vulnerable to physical attacks. The game treats Mogall as a base class, and gives them a "promoted" counterpart with the stronger Arch Mogall class.

Class skills
- Gaiden: Enemy Mogall possess a summoning skill which allows them to summon more enemy Mogall to join the enemy army. If the Mogall who performed the summon is killed, all of the Mogall it summoned will be killed as well.
- Echoes: Shadows of Valentia: Mogall possess the Divide skill, which, when activated, allows them to split into two separate Mogall. Unlike in Gaiden, the separated Mogall survive when the original is killed.

Trivia
- In Gaiden, Mogall have three different animations for attacking for seemingly no reason. The first animation features them ramming the enemy. In the second, they rise up in the air and hit their opponent at an angle, and in the third they ram the enemy but fall to the ground and 'bounce' back to starting position. Why this is and what triggers the different animations is unknown.
