The Spear Fighter (Japanese: 槍術士 Soujutusi) is a base infantry class debuting in Fire Emblem Fates. The class exclusively wields naginata. Much like how the lance compares to its counterparts in the weapon triangle, the Spear Fighter's statistics fall somewhere between those of the Samurai and Oni Savage - its strength and defense are superior to those of the Samurai, but less than the Oni Savage, and it is faster and more skilful than the Oni Savage, but less so than the Samurai. Its balanced statistical spread makes the Spear Fighter a decent all-round unit, and is comparable to the Soldier of the Tellius games.
The Spear Fighter may promote to either the Spear Master or the Basara.
