Legend of the Lake/Script
Byleth and Linhardt find Leonie repairing a damaged bag of hers, and she explains that she was forced to borrow a significant amount of money from her home village of Sauin in order to afford tuition at the Officers Academy and is currently deep in debt. Linhardt recounts a legend that states that a holy weapon that does not require a Crest to wield is hidden at Lake Teutates. Leonie, intrigued, browbeats Byleth and Linhardt into accompanying her on an expedition to Lake Teutates. Once they arrive at the lake, the group is confronted by a gargantuan turtle creature called The Immovable, who challenges them to overcome its trial in order to earn the holy weapon. Byleth and their companions battle their way through a platoon of illusionary soldiers and defeat The Immovable, who grants them the sacred bow The Inexhaustible as a reward. Afterwards, Leonie decides she is not yet worthy of the bow and gives it to Byleth for safekeeping. Linhardt suspects that The Immovable may actually be Saint Indech.
Beginning log
Without a Crest or a family treasure, Leonie has a difficult time getting her hands on quality gear. Linhardt offers her a hint about a sacred weapon anyone can wield.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Fog of war is in play, so it's time to pull out your torches. There are three Wyvern Riders just north of your starting position; Linhardt's Excalibur makes mincemeat of them if he's got A Reason. Enemy reinforcements arrive every turn from turn 2; they cycle in a very predictable pattern. Send someone to the southeast corner and plant them on the reinforcement spot to prevent them from spawning. Your basic strategy is to push northeast, looting chests as you go. Once you make it to the third chest, leave behind someone to plug up the northeast reinforcement spot and cross the map to the west so you can plug up the northwest reinforcement spot. Once the reinforcements are neutralized, it's time to fight the Immovable.
If you are playing on the Verdant Wind route or have cleared Verdant Wind on a previous playthrough, the battle against the Immovable will be much easier. Claude's Immortal Corps has Ashes and Dust, which can not only hit all of the Immovable's barriers in one attack, but can be used twice per map, unlike other gambits of similar range. With just him and a Dancer, you can easily inflict a one-turn barrier break on the Immovable with a double Ashes and Dust. The Immovable, oddly enough, deals magic damage, so take that into account as you wear him down. He's got an utterly insane amount of health, so keep slugging away at him, using gambits to redirect his attacks towards bulky units, until he finally gives up the ghost.
On Maddening, the Immovable becomes much more dangerous due to the sheer amount of health he has on his final health bar. This, combined with his high defense, latent Quick Riposte, and high magic damage make him unsafe for almost any unit to initiate against, and it will take incredibly long to knock his HP down enough so that Quick Riposte is no longer active. The safest way to get him down to 95 HP and out of his Quick Riposte range is by using gambits, so be sure to save as many as you can for this final health bar. If Byleth has reached A rank in swords, then Windsweep is another useful option, as it similarly negates counterattacks. Good options for Windsweep use include the Levin Sword, as it hits the Immovable's much lower resistance, and the Cursed Ashiya Sword, which simply has high might and an incredible critical rate. Alternatively, you may want to consider waiting to inflict an armor break on the Immovable until he reaches his final health bar, so the paralysis it induces will eliminate the risk of him ORKOing your units for one turn.
