Nomads (Japanese: 遊牧民 Nomad) are members of a bow-wielding class present in Fire Emblem. This class is exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade as all nomads hail from the tribes of Sacae in Elibe. Arch Knights in Jugdral and Bow Knights in Tellius are similar classes.
Nomads are basically mounted Archers, and as such, they can only attack from a distance and cannot engage units adjacent to them. Being on horseback gives them great mobility, but curiously in The Binding Blade, they are not vulnerable to anti-cavalry weapons, such as longswords, horseslayers, and rapiers, though the effect applies in The Blazing Blade. Besides, nomads have very well-trained horses and are hindered less by rough terrain or weather conditions than other cavalry units. Nomads also tend to have lower constitution than other mounted units, giving them extremely high Aid.
All characters of this basic class can be promoted to Nomadic Troopers.
