The Great Lord (グレートロード, Gureito Roodo in FE7, or マスターロード, Masutaa Roodo, known as Master Lord in the Japanese version of FE8) is a class that appears in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones as the promoted version of the Lord class. In The Sacred Stones, it is known as the Master Lord class in Japan, which is the same name as the promoted Lord class from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, also called Master Lord.
In Blazing Sword, it is the promoted class of Hector, one main character and Lord; in that game, the Great Lord class uses axes and swords and travels on foot. In The Sacred Stones, the two main characters and Lords, Eirika and Ephraim, both promote to the Great Lord class, which is a horse-riding class. Eirika uses swords; Ephraim uses lances.
In both games, it is a very strong class, being the class of main characters and a promoted class. It has high stats all around, although it varies slightly between characters. Hector's strengths are strength and defense over skill, speed, and luck, although those stats are still good. Eirika excels in skill, speed, and luck, while Ephraim has very balanced stats overall, with higher strength and defense; regardless, they still have good stats in all categories. Overall, both versions of the Great Lord class are very useful.
