The Gold Knight (黄金騎将, Kigane Kishou, meaning "gold horse general", or simply ゴールドナイト, Goorudo Naito) class is a third-tier class found in Fire Emblem Gaiden and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. In Gaiden gold knights use lances, while in Radiant Dawn, they use swords and axes.

As powerful units, they usually appear near the end of the game as enemies, or as the player's own units after much training. They have relatively weak resistance, like other physical attackers. In Radiant Dawn, they have the Sol skill, which upon activation triples damage and lets the user recover HP equal to the amount of damage dealt. They also have the Canto skill, which allows the user to use leftover movement spaces after most actions.

In Gaiden, a villager promotes to a cavalier, then a paladin, and finally a gold knight. In Radiant Dawn, sword knights can become blade paladins or axe knights can become axe paladins, and both blade paladins and axe paladins can become gold knights.
