Ashunera, the ancient creation goddess of Tellius.

Gods are present in most of the Fire Emblem series. Gods in the series are very powerful, and can take many forms. They are often worshiped by humans and other races.

Characteristics

The abilities, appearance, and powers of each god varies from individual to individual. They often bear extreme magical powers, including the ability of creation, or the ability to revive the dead.[1]

Gods take various physical forms. Many of them are humanoid, though some are grotesque, like Duma.

Relationships with other races

Humanity in all games in the series generally has a god, or what they claim is a god, to look up to and worship. Gods rarely intervene directly in human affairs, or are absent entirely.

The exceptions to this are Duma and Mila, who physically manifested on Valentia until Alm defeated Duma, who then went into a great slumber with his sister Mila.

Ashera, Yune, and Ashunera also make direct appearances. Ashera, finding the Beorc and Humans unacceptable decided to turn them all to stone, however Yune and her chosen prevented this by engaging her in battle.

Gods

Named Gods

The gods that are named in-series are listed here, with some information about them. This is not a conclusive list, as not all gods in the series are named. For instance, in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones the deity or deities that gave the Sacred Stones unto humanity remain unnamed.

  • Duma, an earth god whose teachings emphasize power above all else, the brother of Mila.
  • Mila, an earth god whose teachings emphasize peace above all else, the sister of Duma. Also known as the "Earth Mother".
  • Ashunera, the god who created the world that Tellius resides in. Split into two after the great flood.
    • Ashera, one of the aspects that Ashunera split into, represents stasis.
    • Yune, one of the aspects that Ashunera split into, represents chaos and change.
  • A god known by the names "Gran" and "Yudu", the pagan god of Jugdral, worshiped by the humans there until Loptyr and Galle spread their own influences.[2]
  • Fale, a minor war god of Magvel.[3]

Worshipped as Gods, but not Actually Gods

Throughout the series several powerful beings, often manakete, are revered as gods by humans, though they themselves are not gods.

  • Naga, a powerful divine dragon. Blood bonded with the crusader Heim at the miracle of Darna.
  • Loptyr, an earth dragon who hates humanity, blood bonded with Galle.
  • Forseti, a divine dragon who blood bonded with the crusader Ced at the miracle of Darna.
  • Salamand, a dragon who blood bonded with the crusader Fala.
  • Grima, a draconic being whose origins are currently uncertain. Worshiped by the Grimleal, apparently blood bonded with a member of the cult in the past.
