The Cancer is an item that appears in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and its DS remake. One of the twelve Star Shards that make up the Starsphere, whomever holds the Cancer gains a 50% boost to their Defense growth, at the cost of a 10% drop to their Strength growth, in Mystery of the Emblem; in line with a change in the effect of the Starsphere as a whole between original and remake, this effect is changed to a +2 boost in Defense in New Mystery of the Emblem.
