Wyvern Lord

Wyvern Lord (ドラゴンマスター, Doragon Masutaa, Dragon Master, 聖竜騎士, Seiryuukishi, meaning "holy dragon knight", or ドラゴンナイト, Doragon Naito, Dragon Knight in Japan) is a term for a promoted wyvern-riding class that has appeared in many games of the Fire Emblem series. It first appeared in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War as the Dragon Master class, the promoted form of the Dragon Knight class. Next, in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, it was known as the Dragon Knight class, the promoted version of the Dragon Rider class. Afterwards, it appears as the Dragon Master class, promoted version of the Dragon Knight class. In English, it is translated as the Wyvern Lord class, except for in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, in which it is known as the Dragonmaster class.
In most games, wyvern lords use lances and swords. However, in Radiant Dawn, they use lances and axes; in that game, the Wyvern Rider class is known as the Dracoknight class and only uses axes, unlike earlier games in which they use lances.
Wyvern lords are very strong units, as they are promoted units. Their high movement of eight or nine spaces, depending on the game, can make them very useful for many purposes, such as attacking faraway enemies or rescuing endangered units. They have high strength and defense and rather high other stats, except for resistance, in which they are severely lacking. In addition to low resistance, because they are flying units, bows have extra damage against them, as well as wind magic in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Despite their weaknesses, their high HP and other strengths can make up for this.
In most games, they promote from the Wyvern Rider class, or its equivalent, such as Dragon Knight or Dracoknight. In Radiant Dawn, they can promote further to the Dragonlord class.
In Path of Radiance, wyvern lords can learn the Stun skill from an Occult scroll, which immobilizes an enemy unit for two turns at a certain chance. In all games, they can move after doing certain actions, such as trading or rescuing units. This is represented by the Canto skill in Radiant Dawn.
The Wyvern Lord class should not be confused with the Dracoknight class, a similar promoted class that instead promotes from the Pegasus Knight class; this class only appears in Archanea games, such as Shadow Dragon.
