Roy is the main protagonist in Template:FEFT and son of Eliwood, the Duke of Pherae. He is the successor to the throne due to his father's ill health. He later becomes the leader of the Lyncian League's army after Hector has passed away. His childhood friend is Lilina.

Etymology
The name Roy means "red" in Irish and Caelic. It also has a old French variation ("Roi") which means "King".[1] It also means "regal one".[2]
