Weisman |
"Weisman" is used in the most recent, up-to-date version of the fan translation patch, with older versions using "Wiseman", and "Weissman" also common among the fandom outside the fan translation patches. "Weisman" and "Weissmann" appear to be an attempt to make the name less "English" so as to not seem like his name is just a common word. Weissmann (alternatively spelled Weismann, Weißmann, and other variants) is a German surname meaning "white man";[1] one of its spelling variants, Weismann, also has an additional origin as a surname meaning "wise man".[2] |
Japanese |
ワイズマン |
Wiseman. Wiseman is a surname of English origin meaning "wise man", or an Americanization of the above German surname(s).[3] |
