Month 4

Prologue - An Inevitable Encounter, and Chapter 1 - Three Houses

Player formally starts the month on the 24th (when you see Byleth on the calendar). Technically the story starts on the 20th, but the 24th is when you first see the calendar.

On the first exploration day (23rd) the Reception Hall, Officers Academy, and the main hall of the Second Floor will be available. On the second exploration day (27th) the Personal Quarters (with costumes and NG+ benefits), Dormitory-1F, Dining Hall, Greenhouse, Fishing Pond, Sauna (no travel point), Library, and the gardens with the amiibo Gazebo will become available. If you use an amiibo now or prior, the Holy Tomb can also be visited on NG+. Sadly you cannot fast-travel yet. Gardening, Share a Meal, and Fishing will become available after doing their quests.

Month 5

Chapter 2 - Familiar Scenery

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Students can be recruited starting this month. Shamir first appears this month; Anna as well if the DLC pass has been purchased. Alois disappears after you talk to him. Jeralt’s quest will allow you to assign battalions to units in battle.

You can now fast-travel while exploring! The Training Grounds, Marketplace (with Armory and Item Shop, which could be accessed on the battle menu prior), Entrance Hall, and Cathedral will become available. Choir Practice and Cooking will become available after doing their quests. There is also a DLC quest for feeding pets. If you have started the Cindered Shadows DLC, the whole of Abyss can now be visited along with it’s characters. The Pagan Alter and Scrap Heap can be unlocked immediately (with renown or NG+) as well as the Mysterious Teacher after doing its quest.

Month 6

Chapter 3 - Mutiny in the Mist

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Sothis and Catherine first appear this month. Shamir will be gone this month. You can start asking students not in your house for mission assistance. The Dormitory-2F, individual student rooms, Stable, Knights’ Hall, and Common Room (no travel point) will become available. The Counsel Box, Battalion Guild, and Faculty Training will become available after doing their quests. Lost items and the associated quest will appear at this point (which also unlocks gift giving), along with a DLC battle quest for the roster.

Month 7

Chapter 4 - The Goddess's Rite of Rebirth

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Tournaments and Tea Parties will become available after doing their quests. If you have Nintendo Online, the Online Liaison will be available to send and receive travelers, but you cannot do Recons yet.

Month 8

Chapter 5 - Tower of Black Winds

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Alois and Shamir will be gone this month. Gilbert first appears this month. Rodrigue also appears as an NPC this month and won't appear again unless playing the Blue Lion route.

The Graveyard will become available, thus allowing Recon with online travelers. The Forge, Saint Statues, and the Eastern and Southern Merchants will become available after doing their quests (although the statue bonuses are already active on NG+). If you have the DLC pass, the Sauna (along with travel point) and having tea with Rhea will also become available after doing their respective quests.

Month 9

Chapter 6 - Rumors of a Reaper

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Flayn and Manuela will be gone this month. Jeritza will also be gone and will not appear again unless sided with Edelgard on the Black Eagle route at chapter 11. While Seteth is still present, he will not be available for monastery activities. Paralogues and Rare Monster Sightings begin this month.

Month 10

Chapter 7 - Field of the Eagle and Lion

Player starts on the 1st of this month. While the Fishing Tournament is listed only on the first free day, it will actually be available during the entire month. Monica will appear as a NPC during this month and the next month only.

Month 11

Chapter 8 - The Flame in the Darkness

Player starts on the 1st of this month. There is a trading sidequest that might also be a fun easter egg... Tomas disappears this month and will not appear again. The Armory, Item Shop and Battalion Guild will also begin selling new products during this month.

Month 12

Chapter 9 - The Cause of Sorrow

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Jeralt will leave this month and won't appear again, rip. During this month there is the White Heron Cup where a chosen student can unlock the Dancer class should they win. Also there is a special scene available with a student at the Goddess Tower on the 25th: you can pick one by talking to the Gatekeeper or simply have the game pick for you.

Month 1

Chapter 10 - Where the Goddess Dwells

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Most of the Knight of Seiros—Catherine, Shamir, Alois, and Gilbert—will be gone this month. Be sure to visit the Captain's Quarters sometime this month to obtain the ring so you can S-Support someone at the end of the game.

Month 2

Chapter 11 - Throne of Knowledge

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Sothis is gone and will not appear again (unless you S-Support her). Hubert will be gone this month. On the Blue Lion and Golden Deer routes, Edelgard will be gone. On the Black Eagle route, this is your last chance to recruit characters if you plan on siding with Edelgard.

If playing the Black Eagle route, talking to Edelgard with a C+ support will allow to player to view a story event allowing access to the Crimson Flower route. If the player talks to her and chooses to not accompany her however, she'll briefly vanish from the monastery during that week, locking the player into the Silver Snow route instead. Likewise, talking to Edelgard without having reached her C+ support will take the player into an alternate version of the story event which will lock them into Silver Snow as well. The decision itself will be made after the battle on the 29th.

Month 3

Chapter 12 - To War or Outset of a Power Struggle

Player starts on the 15th of this month. On the Church of Seiros, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer routes, this is your last chance to recruit characters before hitting the timeskip. Understandably, Edelgard and Hubert will be gone.

If sided with Edelgard (Black Eagle route only), there will instead be one forced Explore Day in a temporary camp with all the recruited students on the 30th followed by the battle. Randolph and Ladislava first appear as NPCs here and will continue to do so for several chapters. During exploration, the only available facilities will be the Armory, Item Shop, Battalion Guild and Blacksmith, with the former 3 beginning to sell new products while also removing from stock any remaining battalions affiliated with the Church of Seiros. Also, Faculty Training will be unavailable.

Part II

Silver Snow, Azure Moon and Verdant Wind

Technically Part II starts on the 25th of the Ethereal Moon (Month 12) 1185—Chapter 13 - Reunion at Dawn—but the calendar function resumes on the Guardian Moon (Month 1).

Month 1

Chapter 14 - A King Without a Kingdom or The Delusional Prince or The Alliance Leader's Ambitions

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Playable characters who are recruited and alive will appear, otherwise they will disappear for the rest of the game. The Cardinals' Room on the Second Floor and the Third Floor will finally be available. The Armory, Item Shop and Battalion Guild will also begin selling new products during this month. If you have access to Abyss, the Wayseer and the books in the Shadow Library can now be unlocked (with renown or NG+), the former after doing their quest.

Month 2

Chapter 15 - Valley of Torment

Player starts on the 1st of this month. Anna's Secret Shop will become available after doing her quest (no DLC needed).

Month 3

Chapter 16 - The Rose-Colored River

Player starts on the 1st of this month. If playing the Blue Lion route, Rodrigue will appear as a NPC for this month and the next month. If playing the Golden Deer route, Judith will appear as an NPC for the rest of the game. The Dark Merchant will become available after doing their quest.

Month 4

Chapter 17 - Blood of the Eagle and Lion

Player starts on the 1st of this month.

In the Silver Snow route, this month is skipped as the story resumes in Month 5 instead.

On the Azure Moon route, Fleche (Maiden) appears as a NPC for the month. Likewise, Catherine (if recruited) will be gone for the first two free days and instruction days; she will return on the 19th.

Month 5

Chapter 17 - The Impregnable Fortress or Chapter 18 - The King's Triumphant Return or Chapter 18 - The Golden Scheme

Player starts on the 1st of this month. On the Azure Moon route, Dimitri can participate in monastery activities again from here onwards.

Month 6

Chapter 18/19 - The Chaos of War and Chapter - 19/20 Conclusion of the Crossing Roads (back-to-back battles)
or Chapter 19 - The Golden Deer's Plea

Player starts on the 1st of this month.

Month 7

Chapter 20/21 - The City Without Light or Chapter 20 - The Impregnable Fortress

Player starts on the 1st of this month. On the Silver Snow and Verdant Wind routes, you understandably lose access the Archbishop's Room for the rest of the game.

Month 8

Player starts on the 1st of this month.

Chapter 21 - Following a Dream or Chapter 22 Fódlan's New Dawn

On the Silver Snow route, the chapter's story mission can be accessed immediately through exploration by talking to Seteth on the Monastery's third floor and choosing to lead Fódlan.

Chapter 21 - Our Chosen Paths and Chapter 22 - Oath of the Dagger (back-to-back battles)

Crimson Flower

Month 12

Chapter 13 - Beyond Escape

Player starts on the 25th of this month. Playable characters who are recruited and alive will appear, otherwise they will disappear for the rest of the game. Fleche first appears as an NPC and will stay for the rest of the game. The Cardinals' Room on the Second Floor and the Third Floor will finally be available. If you have access to Abyss, the Wayseer and the books in the Shadow Library can now be unlocked (with renown or NG+), the former after doing their quest.

Chapter 14 - The Master Tactician

Chapter 15 - Tempest of Swords and Shields

Anna's Secret Shop will become available after doing her quest (no DLC needed).

Month 3

Chapter 16 - Lady of Deceit

Understandably, Randolph and Ladislava are gone for the rest of the game. The Dark Merchant will become available after doing their quest.

Month 4

Chapter 17 - Field of Revenge and Chapter 18 - To the End of a Dream (back-to-back battles)
