Temari (literally means "hand ball") are a traditional form of Japanese craft. The ball is made from embroidery and is used in handball games, as an accessory for a kimono, or modified into drawstring purses. Traditionally, children would receive temari from their parents on New Year's Day. Inside such temari was a small piece of paper with a wish of good fortune for their child.[1] |
