The Sage's Shield (Japanese: 賢者の盾 Sage's Shield) is an accessory item in the shield category of equipment that debuted in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The Sage's Shield is a shield that offers moderate protection against both defensive skills, and also allows its user to slightly restore HP at the start of their turn via a passive skill, as well as granting its user a combination of two more active skills that together allow all damage against the user to be halved.

History

The Sage's Shield appears to be an artifact quite similar to the Binding Shield. Its creator is unknown; though it was used by the Thabean senate as a seal to trap Forneus and his creations inside the lower reaches of Thabes. The seal was stated to last "until the city crumbled to sand". As the eras passed it appears to have been guarded by a degenerated fire dragon in Thabes Labyrinth Fifth Basement.
