General (Japanese: ジェネラル General) is an advanced class in the Saga games that appears starting from TearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles. Its unpromoted counterpart is Armor Knight in TearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles. General exclusively wields swords and many members of the class have the Great Shield skill.

In TearRing Saga Series: Berwick Saga, it is an enemy-exclusive class that can wield large shields in addition to swords, it is unconnected to Armored Knight which wields Axes. All Generals are named characters and they tend to have skills related to leadership like Commander. Unlike other classes, Generals can wield General Shields at any level.

In Vestaria Saga I: War of the Scions, General is a medium armor class and can now equip Spears as well as throwing spears, in addition to swords. It is again an enemy exclusive class and associated with defensive and leadership skills.

In Vestaria Saga II: The Sacred Sword of Silvanister, General becomes a playable class, as a character controllable in certain maps comes in the General class.
