“ | Oh, yes! I remember him. You ARE quite knowledgeable. I believe he was the fourth person to meet the Rainbow Sage and survive. The first was Sumeragi, the former king of Hoshido! A young King Garon also made the pilgrimage. I heard the third individual was an unknown knight no one had ever heard of before. But yes, Xander was the fourth! | ” | — Old Man |

Rainbow Sage (Birthright)/Script
We witness Corrin, Azura, and Ryoma teleport onto the streets of Notre Sagesse, after which Corrin asks the others if they made it through, to which Ryoma confirms everyone did; Ryoma notices the lack of Nohrian forces on the streets and states that the army should be safe for the time being, after which Takumi states that the Nohrians are probably still looking for them in the Woods of the Forlorn. Corrin asks for any idea on how to find the Rainbow Sage, to which Ryoma states that they should look around for someone to interrogate; Corrin manages to start interrogating an eccentric old man who initially assumes Corrin's army is a comedy team upon being asked about the Rainbow Sage, then upon Corrin asking how to track the Rainbow Sage down advises Corrin against the task as almost nobody has visited the Rainbow Sage and lived to tell the tale. Ryoma asks the old man if Xander is one of the few who'd survived, to which the old man states that Xander was the fourth one to meet the Rainbow Sage and survive--the first three being Sumeragi, Garon, and an unknown knight; Corrin asks the old man how the group can find the Rainbow Sage, to which the old man points them toward Mount Sagesse and states that the Sevenfold Sanctuary is at its peak and reveals that the Rainbow Sage supposedly rests on the top floor of the sanctuary. Corrin states that he/she can't imagine what challenges lie at the Sevenfold Sanctuary, to which the old man states that he's heard every rumor imaginable, rooms full of poisonous snakes and trapdoors everywhere in particular, but doesn't believe any of it and states that the only way to know for sure is to reach the top; Corrin thanks the old man for the information, to which the old man wishes Corrin's army good luck before Corrin calls the army into action.
We watch as Corrin, Sakura, Takumi, and Ryoma trek up Mount Sagesse, with Corrin noting the climb as strenous but not overly dangerous, to which Ryoma states that the army has kept pace and that they're approaching the Sevenfold Sanctuary; Corrin offers to go ahead and scout the area, to which Ryoma states that the group's sticking with Corrin no matter what awaits in the sanctuary, to which Corrin thanks Ryoma and calls the army into action. Preparations take place at this point; the battle begins once preparations are complete.
Once the battle ends, Corrin states that they'll finally meet the Rainbow Sage on the other side of the rearmost door, to which Ryoma asks Corrin to be careful and not let his/her guard down yet; Corrin states that they should take things slowly and counts down movement toward the door. Upon moving toward the door, the group ends up finding themselves warped back to the streets of the harbor, where they're greeted by the old man from earlier; a bewildered Corrin asks what they're doing back at the harbor, to which the old man states that this is where he lives, after which Corrin figures out that the old man is in fact the Rainbow Sage, who states that the legend about him would have taken a hit if it were known he lived in the harbor. Corrin asks the Rainbow Sage if he'll grant him/her the same power granted to the others, to which the Rainbow Sage refuses; Corrin asks if there's some other challenge that must be performed, to which the Rainbow Sage states that the journey to and challenge at the Sevenfold Sanctuary has strengthened the group's minds and bodies, revealing that he has no doubts Corrin would climb another 5,000 feet if asked, and reveals that the strength gained during the journey is what Sumeragi, Garon, Xander, and the unknown knight have tapped into. The Rainbow Sage then states that there is one more thing he can do for Corrin, with Corrin amazed that he knew his/her name; the Rainbow Sage states that he knows more about Corrin that he/she knows about himself/herself, then asks to see his/her Yato. Corrin asks the Rainbow Sage if what's going on has to do with the Seal of Flames, to which the Rainbow Sage confirms and then asks Takumi to lift his Fujin Yumi along with Corrin's Yato and look at each other with calm minds and open hearts.
We watch as Takumi's Fujin Yumi starts to glow, after which the Rainbow Sage starts chanting an incantation; we then cut to a shot of the Yato, which glows and transforms to Corrin's notice. The Rainbow Sage states that Corrin is now the proud owner of the Noble Yato, to which Corrin states that he/she feels power coursing through it; the Rainbow Sage states that this power is nothing compared to what he/she will feel later and that's all he can tell for now. The Rainbow Sage states that the Nohrian army is confused and that this moment is an opportune time for the army to return to Nohr, after which he bids Corrin's army farewell. Before the group leaves, Corrin thanks the Rainbow Sage for what he's done, to which the Rainbow Sage returns the favor; Corrin states that he/she vows to return to Notre Sagesse and visit the Rainbow Sage again once the war's over, which surprises him and then Corrin in turn before the two of them exchange their proper farewells. After Corrin's group leaves the area, the Rainbow Sage states that he hopes Corrin can live up to his/her destiny, then reveals he'll be long dead before he finds out.
Summary
With help from Leo, the group returns to Notre Sagesse. They undergo several challenges to meet the Rainbow Sage, who has already granted Xander his power.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Before initiating this chapter, try to check at the enemy stats first. You will notice that most enemies have extremely lopsided defense and resistance; knowing this can help you finish off enemies more easier. In the left rooms, the enemies have high resistance, but nonexistent defense; the right-side rooms are the opposite. At the middle-most room a Great Master with potential high magic than strength. Surprisingly they wield Steel Naginatas, so they may deal no damage to your units. Finally the top-most room has a paired-up Swordmaster and Berserker. The Berserker has very high attack that may kill your unit that comes contact, but he has a low amount of HP, so finishing him off should be easy.
Trivia
- This chapter's map is later reused in Conquest Chapter 11 and Revelation Chapter 15.
