Magvel

Grado (pronounced /ˈɡɹeɪdoʊ/[key][1]; Japanese グラド Grado) is one of the countries in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It is located in the center-south of Magvel. The countries that border Grado are Frelia to the northwest, Renais to the north, and Jehanna to the northeast. The country is named after its founder, Grado. Earthquakes are also a common occurrence in Grado.

History

Founding

Grado as an empire was formed after Fomortiis was killed, about 800 years ago. As mentioned, it was named after the leader of the Five Heroes, Grado.

Like the other countries formed after the war with Fomortiis Grado possesses a Sacred Stone. Grado's sacred stone is unique among the others, as it houses the soul of the Demon King, Fomortiis. Grado's Sacred Stone is known as the Fire Emblem. The Sacred Twin weapons wielded by Grado himself, Garm and Gleipnir, were also sealed in the same chamber as the Fire Emblem.

Modern day

Lyon's experiments with the Dark Stone that would lead to his possession.

Grado was peaceful in the centuries after the death of the demon king. This peace was unfortunately broken after 800 years when Fomortiis was able to possess the imperial prince of the age and used Grado's military might to lay waste to Renais and the rest of Magvel in the War of the Stones.

Grado suffered a great many casualties during and after the war, all known members of the royal family are dead, and only the aged Duessel remains of the legendary Imperial Three. Not to help matters was the massive earthquake that destroyed half of Grado, though Ephraim, Lyon's old friend and king of Renais organizes extensive aid for Grado's remaining citizens. Among this Grado also lost its housed Sacred Stone.
