Divine Pulse

Divine Pulse (Japanese: 天刻の拍動 Heavenly Time's Pulse) is the name of a mechanic appearing in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and a skill in Fire Emblem Engage. The Three Houses mechanic offers the limited ability to rewind turns in battle to undo unit actions. In Engage, this time-rewinding is interpreted in the form of a skill that grants the user a luck-based chance to hit attacks that would have missed ordinarily. It can be used by equipping Byleth's Emblem Ring, or inheriting it from him.
Role
At the end of first chapter of Three Houses, Kostas recovers from his injuries and attempts to attack Edelgard, but Byleth sacrifices themselves to protect her. They have another vision of the girl, who scolds them for being so reckless, introduces herself as Sothis, and grants them the ability to rewind time with Divine Pulse. Byleth redoes the past several seconds and this time counters Kostas' strike and drives him off.
Later during Tales of the Red Canyon, Sothis recounts that the Red Canyon Zanado triggered some of her hidden memories and bids Byleth travel there to investigate. As Byleth departs, they are noticed by the lord character, who rounds up the other students and follows them. Byleth arrives at Zanado, but is suddenly attacked by a pack of giant animals led by a Demonic Beast. Byleth is rescued by their students, and together they drive off the animals. Afterwards, the lord character berates Byleth for their recklessness, and they agree to pass off the day's events as a training exercise. Sothis apologizes to Byleth for nearly getting them killed, but manages to awaken an improved Divine Pulse in the process.
Overview

Turn rewind § Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Like Mila's Turnwheel, Divine Pulse can be used to rewind turns and undo actions. The player may use Divine Pulse at any time during their turn; additionally, it will activate automatically when a Game Over is about to occur, provided that there are still charges remaining. The player initially has three charges to rewind turns, and can gain more as the game progresses; unlike Mila's Turnwheel, the maximum number of charges the player may acquire changes with difficulty—Normal and Hard allow a maximum of thirteen charges, while Maddening allows ten.
