Accessory (My Castle)
- Not to be confused with accessory items.
Accessories (Japanese: アクセサリー accessory) are tools that can be bought with resources or taken from fallen enemy troops. These items are managed through the Accessory shop. Accessories in this form were introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. Accessories are notable in that they do not function like items, they do not appear in a unit's inventory at any time and are always managed in their own menu.
Overview
Within Fates there are many accessories. Some of these accessories are unique to the feature and not featured elsewhere. However, a sizable portion of accessories are taken from character outfits. For example, Arete's headdress and Forrest's hat are both worn by those units and can also be purchased.
Effects of accessories
Accessories only have any statistical effect during battles that take place in a player's castle. Each item gives a stat boost or other effect depending on the item itself. Outside of these battles they are purely decorative. Accessories only appear on a character's 3D model, and not in their portrait. Accessories will appear, worn by the character they are assigned to, in all scenes, battle or story, that involve their 3D model.
Obtaining accessories
Accessories can be obtained through several means. The primary method of obtaining them is through the Accessory shop, the accessory shop sells accessories in exchange for resources. Accessories can also be obtained from other players through StreetPass and SpotPass. In very rare instances, enemies can drop Accessories.
