A Traitor's Worth (Japanese: 裏切りの持つ価値は The Worth of Betrayal) is the second side quest in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. In order to reach this chapter, the player must have 15 or fewer units alive at the end of Chapter 12.

Plot

Main article: A Traitor's Worth/Script

After the liberation of Archanea Palace, Marth and his men ride across the country to drive out Dolhr's forces. The last holdout is Horace, a former Archanean knight who unexpectedly betrayed Archanea for Dolhr. Nyna gives in to her knights' desires and orders Marth to subdue him. As he approaches, the Dohlrian knight Dejanira threatens Horace with the deaths of the people living on his land should he attempt to return to Archanea. Marth defeats Dejanira, and Horace surrenders. In the aftermath, Horace requests to be executed as a traitor. However, his people plea on his behalf and explain Dejanira's blackmail, and Nyna opts to force him back into service as an Archanean knight.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

Overview

  • Enemies: Horace and his team on the left; Pirates in western fortresses; Dejanira (not a threat due to lack of range); Manakete near the northern village (major threat).
  • Objective: Visit the villages on the map's right side.

Strategy:

  • Move up the map's right side and defeat all opposition.
  • Lure the Manakete with a fast unit (17+ Speed) and defeat him.
  • Keep Horace alive for recruitment.

New Unit, Horace:

  • Strong with good stats and growth.
  • Comparable to Draug but falls short of a trained Wolf or Sedgar.
