Zofia's Call/Ram Woods Battle

Ram Woods Battle (Japanese: ラムの林の戦い Ram Forest battle) is the first and second battles of Fire Emblem Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, respectively. In this map, Alm begins his journey to Zofia castle.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

Gaiden

The first map of Gaiden's first Act is fairly straightforward. As with every map in Gaiden, the goal is to rout the enemy. None of the available units will be killed by a couple of rounds of combat, so simply slowly take out each Brigand; just avoid letting a single unit be surrounded. Alm is the most capable of the group, but each villager should get some experience. It is not recommended to move units to the pink healing tile in the upper left, as the battle will be over before they recover any meaningful amount of HP.

The map should be complete in a few turns.

Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

In Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, your main objective for these first couple of maps is to bring Tobin, Kliff, and Faye to level 3 so they can promote at the Thieves' Shrine. On turn 1, have Alm and Lukas move east into the forests. Then move Faye two right and up one, Gray right one, Kliff right three, and Tobin right three and up one. On enemy phase, Alm and Lukas are attacked by two Brigands each.

On turn 2, have Tobin finish one Brigand and have Faye and Kliff tag team another, giving the kill to Kliff. Have Alm and Lukas each injure one of the two unharmed Brigands. On enemy phase, everyone will try to flee west to the supplies - they are programmed to do so at 50% health or less. Keep this in mind. On turn 3, again have Tobin kill one Brigand and have Faye weaken another for Kliff to finish off. Alm and Lukas can kill the others. If you did everything right, bonus experience should bring Tobin and Kliff to 99 EXP, while Faye is sitting at a workable 38.
