(Japanese: ベルド Veld) was a dark bishop of the Loptr Church, the administrator of all of the cult's activities in the Munster District, and the wielder of Stone, a rare form of dark magic capable of petrifying its victims. He was responsible for the Aed Massacre by informing King Travant of the movements and vulnerability of Quan and Ethlyn as they travelled through the Aed Desert, using the assassination of Quan as a means to turn North and South Thracia against each other.[1] During the Grannvale occupation of the Munster District, Veld acted as a benefactor to Duke Raydrik of Munster, providing him with the Lopt Sword and the support of the Loptyrian forces.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
Role
Shortly after Raydrik's arrest of Leif, Veld was present in the Munster Castle arena with Raydrik, watching Eyvel and Nanna fight against gladiators set upon them by Raydrik. When Eyvel proved to overpower most of the enemies and resist Mareeta's attempts to kill her, Veld cast Stone upon her and petrified her, then left with Raydrik, allowing Leif to escape.
Later, when Leif's army returned to Munster for their final battle with Raydrik, Veld expressed his disgust with Raydrik's failures and threatened to cut his support, but nonetheless gave Raydrik a small unit of the Bergrosen to use against Leif. Following Raydrik's defeat, Veld turned him into the Deadlord Mus and set him up to guard the Munster Loptyrian temple against Leif's assault. To assist him in battle, Manfroy entrusted Veld with five more Deadlords. Ultimately, Leif's army defeated the Deadlords, unlocked Veld's chamber and defeated Veld.

Boss, Ch.5 Boss, Endgame
Veld is present in Chapter 5, but is located with Raydrik in an inaccessible part of the map and cannot be fought at all in the chapter's course; he and Raydrik leave the map after Eyvel has been petrified. Later, he is the final boss of the Endgame, and of Thracia 776 as a whole.
