Your castle

Hey, I saw your castle listing on your userpage. Would you mind putting your Hoshido castle as your current one so that I can recruit your Yukimura? Geodude (talk) 03:58, 2 December 2018 (UTC)

You've got 60 seconds to beat the clock! OK, so I'm not that cruel, but it's ready. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 05:01, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
I wasn't able to grab it before and it looks like Conquest is back to being the active castle? Could you set it to your Birthright castle again, pretty please? Geodude (talk) 00:37, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
I've been typically rotating which castle I hit "update" on on a daily basis (and I got into that habit when I had that Valkyria Chronicles 4*-themed Halloween deck-out), switching between Birthright and Conquest on alternating days. I had refrained from hitting "update" on Conquest between when you made your last request and this afternoon (since the intervening timeframe would have largely been Birthright anyway); I had assumed you'd been by and picked it up during that timeframe.
Let's try it again. If you can make it by late morning or early afternoon Central Standard Time on Wednesday, you should be good; I would have hit update on Birthright in that timeframe tomorrow in any event, so you've got until midday Wednesday. My units don't move and the throne is empty, so you don't need to do too much avoiding (maybe a stop-and-go in one of the corners, depending on which units you use)...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:42, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Heroes passive skill rarity template (part 2)

I don't consider it revolved because you never answered the question, just said that you were unhappy about it being different, hoped I wouldn't notice, and got annoyed I brought it up and kept trying to get you to respond. You never gave me an answer on how it should be, you had just said you don't like it when things are different between pages. All I can gather from that is either you hate change, or you just want things to be consistent (which is fine).

However, I think the current way of doing it is not sufficient. Compare it to how unit levels are listed on Gaiden spell pages. Please cooperate. PikaSamus (talk) 20:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

I've really got no idea on how I'd actually tweak those templates you're referring to; my lack of reply was likely intended to convey that message, as I had felt rather intimidated by your initial response. But you instead had to persist like a bully, making a big deal out of nothing, making me more and more intimidated as the situation wore on...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:49, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
I did not understand your silence as meaning "I don't know", but I instead interpreted it as you just ignoring it. Please note that I had no intention of trying to intimidate you. I'm sorry if you felt that way. I suppose this can be considered resolved now. PikaSamus (talk) 14:37, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, you certainly didn't have an intimidation intent...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:25, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Question

How are we gonna be able to see romaji on articles? Wc12271991 (talk) 07:18, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

Just hover over the Japanese text with your mouse, and the romaji appears in a tooltip. That's the purpose of the {{hover}} template. --Moydow (Support) 07:22, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

Moving Panne's Heroes file names

The idea of adding epithets for future "New Heroes" was not my idea. I was kindly asked by L95 not to revert her changes as per "future proofing". Look at the most recent file moves. --Master Snake (talk) 02:43, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Yes, we've (as in users in the discord) have also wanted to implement it in unit data instead of things like "valentines variation" as well, though some users don't seem to have noticed previous edits regarding this, considering the issue keeps coming up despite other users correcting. I'll fully admit discussion on this could be more visible as Discord is kind of out of the way L95 (talk) 02:57, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Project Exile scripts

I believe you can still download them (link shared in discord by a member of their team). PikaSamus (talk) 15:16, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Two spaces

Two spaces display identically to one space in HTML (and thus on this website), so there is no purpose in doing two spaces. PikaSamus (talk) 20:27, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Fighter skills

Hi,

Since you've stealthily undone both mine and PikaSamus' edits grouping together the fighter B skills from Heroes I thought I'd give you an explanation of why they are clearly of the same family.

  • they're all B skills that can only be used by armors,
  • all of their Japanese names include 隊形 (formation),
  • their icons all use dots to represent different formations and

Is feh wary fighter 3.pngIs feh bold fighter 3.pngIs feh vengeful fighter 3.pngIs feh special fighter 3.pngIs feh odd follow-up 3.pngIs feh daring fighter 3.pngIs feh crafty fighter 3.pngIs feh slick fighter 3.png

  • the game groups them, as been be seen in these three images (I don't have all the skills so there are a few missing).

I hope this clears any doubt.

Thanks, Luke (talk) 13:49, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

  • Sorry, it doesn't. The "family" in question is, effect-wise, clearly nothing alike--as far as I can tell, the only similiarity they have is the word "fighter" in its name, effects are all over the place...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:12, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

FE7 game name

Hi,

I see you use Fire Emblem when referring to FE7 but wanted to let you know that in almost every case The Blazing Blade is what is used now. It'd save me having to change it all the time if you used it.

Thanks, Luke (talk) 14:03, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

  • Sorry, it's just that I have a hard time trusting what's been a Heroes-only classification to this point--though part of it can be chalked up to being introduced via Choose Your Legends with its own multitude of issues. If Warriors or Smash Ultimate had used it to solidify things, I probably would have warmed up to it sooner (the Wii U eShop listing for the Virtual Console gets a pass since it predates CYL)...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:12, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Arete in Heroes

Watch the recent trailer. At 2:18, you'll see that Arete has a red tome, the red version of the tome Tatiana comes with. Just saying, it might be better to watch trailers more carefully. ChaosGallade (talk) 06:47, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

A number of issues

Firstly, respond to messages on your talk page. You haven't responded to any of the last four topics on this page, most of which challenge choices or practices you continue to stand by.

Secondly, your comments are far longer than they need to be; it should not be a net removal of hundreds of bytes to add or uncomment information. Your edit summaries are similarly overlong, and you do not use them for their purpose; they are for summarizing the edits you are making, not for your predictions on who will win voting gauntlets, your opinions on the characters added to Heroes, jokes, etc.

Thirdly, bow, dagger, breath, and beast weapon skills in Heroes take the color of the user, and so even personal weapons have no color; if you mention "this weapon is exclusive to x color unit" in the lead, that's fine, but listing such personal weapons as a specific color is incorrect.

Fourthly, stop changing the links of Heroes skills from the abbreviated link with a number to the unabbreviated one without a number, such as [[Def/Res Ideal 1]] to [[Defense/Resistance Ideal|Def/Res Ideal 1]]. It is more space, often still a redirect, and in some cases less clear and more likely to change—such as linking to Cancel as opposed to Guard 1. Related, stop setting the links and images in {{FEH skill}} when the template sets them automatically and does not need correction.

Lastly, in the future, don't create separate pages for weapons that are derived from weapons not yet in Heroes, such as Holy Yewfelle. It creates more work in the need for a merge, and such merges are inevitable. Weapons such as Holy Yewfelle and Divine Tyrfing aren't merged into the main page because they are related to a weapon that is in Heroes, but because they are related to a weapon that already has an article and there is little to say about them other than their stats. — Thecornerman (talk) 16:41, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

  • Wait, you're accusing me of challenging choices or practices? Trust me, I have done nothing of the sort and never have--it's as if you're trying to paint me as an intimidator as opposed to being easily intimidated. Yeah, I may have been very slightly out of line with some the edits I did related to last night's reveal trailer, but that can be chalked to me not thinking completely straight at that time due to the timing of the reveal trailer itself (I probably would have been thinking more straight had the reveal trailer dropped at 3:00 AM UTC tonight like normal). I've never done anything to willingly put my hard-earned autoconfirmed status at risk, and trust me, I'll do whatever it takes to ensure my autoconfirmed status never at any point in time drops down to an at-risk state...
  • To be fair, though, the length of commented-out information is primarily intended to make sure people know what to do with the area once the information's confirmed; I tend to get a bit peeved when infrastructure that's clearly temporary gets intermediate revision before there's a finish surface to reveal, but more often than not I tend to not go back and re-add stuff (and when it does happen, it's because I'm not thinking straight). The fact that it can get a bit long can be partially chalked up to having seen a function's intent get misinterpreted. As for my edit summaries, yeah, sometimes they can get over the top, but whatever I do put there's generally lame anyway, never worth getting into a counter-huff over...
  • Personal skill color? I've always perceived the same multi-color treatment non-personals get to be sending the wrong message in the case of personals--I've always worked on the basis to "work with the skill's entire learnbase", which with non-personals warrants the rainbow treatment (due to cross-color inheritance) but not personals (as there's no cross-color inheritance to work with). Applying rainbow treatment to personals I've interpreted as sending one of the following messages: either it's not actually personal, it's got at least four wielders with at least one of each color, or that the user can freely change their color at will. Don't think that's going to change at anytime soon, that's drummed down pretty deep...As for how Heroes skills link, trust me, I caught a lot of flak back around the game's initial launch for actually putting the articles at shortened names, and as a result that whole mentality got drummed down pretty deep--right down into my whole routine for putting up a Heroes unit's skill set section in the first place, which for passives means "open the article space (via a piped link without any number or shortening), prepare the slash treatment if necessary, build the core page with redirect guides (the numbered redirects plus one for the display-shortened names without one if necessary, usually not necessary for one-tier skills), open the redirects through the guides (if necessary), remove the redirect guides, hit submit on the article space, prepare the redirects, hit submit on the redirects", and trust me I've nearly gotten messed up with number-links too early on the routine (think an article created directly at, for example, "Crappy Fighter 1" rather than simply "Crappy Fighter"--I'd find it hard to imagine Heroes actually using that name for a skill, for the record)...
  • There, that's everything I need to get on my chest. Now it's time for this trustworthy autopatrolled user to get back to work, there's still some left over from the reveal trailer drop...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:12, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
