Sacred Stones characters

The Line between generic, and unique character can sometimes be hard in Fire Emblem, but I think there's a good case for the Bandit mini boss in Chapter 5 being listed. My reasons include:

  • He has his own dialogue.
  • The Bandit's stats are set, and are noticeably higher then those of his fellow bandits in the same chapter.
  • The Bandit has a unique portrait, with even a chibi included, unlike the other Generics which have icons.
  • The Bandit has a set affinity(thunder), this is completely unlike Generics which have no affinity at all.
  • We have a page for the nameless Gra Captain, and one for Ruffian from the DS titles.
  • Generic boss monsters are included in the Sacred Stones character list.

Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:17, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Hmmm. Him having set stats is actually fairly convincing. My only misgiving is that it is a boss section on the page, and he doesn't have a boss marker(the little shield). That is my big hangup, he isn't actually a boss, going by the game. (...If I remember correctly, and I feel fairly sure he doesn't have the icon, does he give the boss exp bonus?) I do agree with your points otherwise, though, he has all the things to make himself a boss except for the game designating him as one. L95 (talk) 02:41, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

He doesn't have a shield symbol on his map sprite, but neither do several other GBA minibosses like Robarts(an Erik portrait edit boss in hard of FE6). Its a theory of mine that that Bandit would've had a name, and more dialogue, but it got cut for time. If there's no room for him in the boss section, do you think we could add as spot for the Sacred Stones bandit in an enemies section? On a related subject, guys like Breguet, and O'Neill have unique palettes in the data as seen when player controlled, but just use generic palettes in the final game. Emperor Hardin (talk) 03:25, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Hmm, if we have minibosses like that on other boss lists, then add the bandit back. I was aware FE6 had unused boss palettes, so I'm not surprised to see that there are other bosses with that issue in other games. L95 (talk) 18:22, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll add him back. I wanna link to the uncreated character page rather then the FE9 bandit class. Thats interesting about FE6. I know with FE8 it seems most of the bosses have a default(Player)palette, but the problem is its overwritten by the generic red palette when an enemy unit. Thus Breguets gold armor turns red, O'neil's black uniform turns red, ETC. Most of the bosses with unique palettes like Aias, and the infamous Gheb have unchanging palettes no matter which side they're on. I bet FE6's issue was similar. Also I have a unused portrait from FE11 that I uploaded. I think its the slaver NPC in Linde's recruitment(who was removed in Shadow Dragon), or a generic Manakete, but it could be something else entirely. Emperor Hardin (talk) 07:14, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Arcadia

I believe the village was founded by Divine Dragons, but by the time of FE6, only the Elder(who states he is too old to fight), and Fae have thick enough blood to assume dragon form. Nergal also refers to the Divine Dragons helping Athos in their last battle in the Japanese version of FE7. Emperor Hardin (talk) 22:45, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Liza in Shadow Dragon NES

Liza is indeed mentioned in Fire Emblem 1. It was Morzas(Moses in Japan and fan translations, likely changed to be unoffensive), not Gharnef who killed her. He mentions killing her in his opening speech to taunt Marth, its said she was one of many killed by him during his tenure as overseer of Altea. Emperor Hardin (talk) 23:51, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Crap, you're right. I don't know why I thought it was Gharnef, sorry >.> L95 (talk) 00:56, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
No problem, here's a basic timeline to help.
  • Grust/Dolhr Alliance conquers Altea.
  • Camus is appointed Overseer of it, he's harsh, but fair.
  • Camus gets in trouble for helping Nyna, while his subordinates such as Hollstadt stay, Camus is relieved of command. Morzas is put into to replace him.
  • Morzas is super cruel, and gets alot of people killed of petty reasons, one of them being Liza who Morzas kills in person.
Also I think it would've been nice if Morzas shows up in Shadow Dragon's prologue. The intro of Star and Savior says Marth, and Morzas have met before(Once again the dreaded Morzas appears before Marth), so the prologue could've been a good opportunity. Ah well, can't have everything, huh? Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:07, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Your edit on Dragonstones.

http://fireemblemwiki.org/w/index.php?title=Dragonstone&oldid=62300

I changed up the part about Divine Dragons being the only kind able to use Dragonstones outside of their tribe. Bantu can indeed use Icestone, Wyvernstone, and Magestone in Shadow Dragon, and New Mystery. The only stones to be locked are the Earthstone, and Divinestone, which only their tribe members can use. Before you ask, testing it, Medeus can indeed use the Earthstone in the Manakete class in Shadow Dragon. Emperor Hardin (talk) 04:45, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Your profile is amazing.

What you've done with it is so awesome, "Lindsy"! When I'm able to create pages, can you help me with mine? -- that girl (talk) 05:33, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Sure, it's pretty easy. Just let me know when you're ready to put it together. L95 (talk) 15:12, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

TMSFE box

Is there a version that doesn't have the odd transparency on the artwork? PikaSamus (talk) 21:41, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

And where?

You removed my text. You should've putted the sentence elsewehre on the article. I personaly think this sentences should be on the article because it informs the reader how to avoid being instantly killed. I accept your decision anyway. And I need some introductions... are there any MoS pages to read? Seliph (talk) 00:09, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Ah, I think I have misunderstood the intent behind the information, you were just giving battle advice. Hmm. I personally think that kind of information would fare better on a chapter page (which, we don't have...) So I'll re-add it. L95 (talk) 01:04, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Sacred stones portraits, and unused animations

There's a few Sacred Stones portraits we don't have here yet. They include the two O'Neill recolors, both generic fighters, one with Binks as a mercenary troupe, and another is a Guard working for Orson. Finally several early generic bosses have unique palettes that are unused due to their enemy palette overlapping it with a generic red. For example, O'Neill has a black uniformed battle sprite, matching his shirt, thats only seen by exploring the game's files, or if he's hacked on the player side. Similar for Breguet, Bone, and I think Saar. Most of the bosses with unique palettes don't change their palettes regardless of their side. Should we upload the rest of the portraits, and the unused boss palettes? Emperor Hardin (talk) 06:50, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Holland

Doesn't Holland use the generic Villager portrait in Awakening? Because I don't see the point of having 2 generic Awakening villager portraits. ChaosGallade (talk) 16:09, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes. The page was already revised with the correct portrait. L95 (talk) 18:12, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Possible unused mini portraits in FE9

So having played Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance recently, I really do not remember these mini portraits linked [1], and [2] used anywhere, should we add em to the unused content page? Emperor Hardin (talk) 17:25, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

As I've said, I haven't finished PoR, but those minimugs don't look familiar.L95 (talk) 18:59, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Do you think we should add them to the Unused content page then? On a different topic, do you want recommendations for Artworks to make transparent? Finally, thanks for fixing my edit to the Revenant Page, I forgot they looked the same even though I've played Gaiden fairly recently. Emperor Hardin (talk) 03:52, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

You don't need to ask me if content should be added to the unused page, if you think it should be there, go ahead and put it there. (At the very worst someone'll come along and fix it if it turns out to be used after all) Sure, feel free to show me some files desiring that sweet, sweet transparency. Also, you are welcome. L95 (talk) 04:19, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Alright, I'll put adding them on my To-Do list, at worst I'll still find out where they were used. Do you want me to link the TCG images, or upload them directly? I'll show the links now. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Thank you very much, on a sidenote I was thinking about making a topic on Serenesforest on what would be cool to add in a Gaiden remake, would you be interested? Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:51, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

If you feel like it, uploading the non transparent versions here as .png s would be nice so I could upload them easily, though do as you wish. I don't go on Serenes much at the moment. I'm honestly not sure on what the filenames should be, though so far I've made a transparent version of that Dragon Knight card; though I'm not sure what the filename should be.... L95 (talk) 21:01, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

I'll upload them later, probably in about an hour or two. I'm away from my main computer right now. I'd call it Dracoknight, if its the card I linked. File:FEMN_Dracoknight.png seems appropriate. Emperor Hardin (talk) 23:43, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

I felt I had to put them in the JPG format to match the others already in the set. But I can make upload dupes in the png format which you can later replace with your transparent versions? Like Berserker would be FE776_Berserker.png Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:40, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Added PNG version place holders. The hunter artwork is from the FE4 set in the card game, I'm sorry I should've explained. Do you want me to link the FE3 version of the Hunter Card? Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:11, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

By the way, this might come off as a dumb question, but are we allowed to share images between both FireEmblemwiki, and FireEmblem.wikia? Like say upload images that currently only Fire Emblem wikia has to FireEmblem, and Vice A versa? Emperor Hardin (talk) 19:58, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Since these are official images, (official art, official merchandise, etc.) it shouldn't be a problem, though it would technically be more ideal to go to the source of the images. (For example, I'm fairly sure the majority of the old FETCG scans on the internet were done by Aquantis, though he may not have everything). I know the other wiki has used some of my transparency jobs before... ehe. L95 (talk) 20:02, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Well like for example, FireEmblemwiki.org has a FE4 Hunter transparent done by you, and FireEmblem.wikia.com has a FE3 Hunter transparent done by KhangND? I'm thinking I should ask the uploaders, but I wanna if the wikis have an official stance? BTW, the Visual Boy Advance for Mac, I'm using doesn't have a "Options-->video-->Layers--> and turning off BG0, BG1, BG2, and BG3." I'm using 17.6, mac version. Emperor Hardin (talk) 20:44, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Project:copyrights says it's ok. PikaSamus (talk) 20:57, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
Well it may be ok copyright wise, but I don't wanna upset anyone, or break a format if there is one? Emperor Hardin (talk) 21:44, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
Would you prefer uploading the transfers yourself to the Fire emblem wikia? Emperor Hardin (talk) 03:37, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Moving pages over redirects

Pages can be moved over redirects as long as they redirect to it and have no other edits (this is why moves can be reverted).

Say Page B (Corrin) is created as a redirect to Page A (Avatar (Fates)) and never edited afterward. Page A can be moved to Page B.

However, if someone edits the redirect, say, if Page A (Avatar (Shin Monshou no Nazo)) was first moved to Page C (Avatar (New Mystery of the Emblem)) and the redirect is fixed, then Page C cannot be moved to Page B, even if the redirect is corrected to point to the new page name. I hope this helps. PikaSamus (talk) 20:28, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Oh, Ok, I must've done something wrong, as I tried to move Kris and Corrin at the same time as Robin and it didn't let me, but ey, if you've got it, great. L95 (talk) 20:46, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, as I explained on the other talk page, this is pretty much the reason "Wade (disambiguation)" ever existed (seriously, did anyone here in April 2011 have a good sense of priority?)...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 20:52, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Earth Dragon flavor text

Yeah, it seems to come from Serenesforest.net page on New Mystery's classes. In the actual game, classes can not be clicked for a description unlike the GBA/GC/Wii games, and Earth Dragons are one of the classes that never appear in the class roll. Emperor Hardin (talk) 06:33, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Path of Radiance artwork

I remember seeing Bertram artwork somewhere, either Serenes, FE musuem, or wikia? I think the only one of the four riders without official art is Bryce, which is somewhat odd, as he's more important then Petrine at least. Emperor Hardin (talk) 04:32, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

You're right, it's from FE museum, I'll get to cleaning it up. L95 (talk) 04:38, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

THe Fire Emblem wikia, and I think serenes have it too. Sidenote would you prefer to upload the transparents on your own wiki account to Fire emblem wikia? Emperor Hardin (talk) 04:40, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

...I don't quite understand the question. I will be uploading it here at File:FEPR_Bertram.png. As per wiki filename policy... L95 (talk) 04:52, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Did you use Wikia/Serenes version? Sorry, I meant would you prefer if, on Fire Emblem wikia, you uploaded the transparents you made, on your own account, so you'd get credit? Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:17, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

...my own account...? I started wit the Serenes version, the one with the background from the website, since the wikia version cut out bits of the horse's mane anyway. L95 (talk) 05:36, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

I thought you had a Fire Emblem wikia account? Basically, I mean so when you upload the Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War hunter, it'll say "uploaded by L95", giving you credit. Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:45, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Oh, I do, but I don't really use it or care about it L95 (talk) 06:00, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Basically would you prefer to upload File:FESK_Hunter.png yourself to the Fire emblem wikia? Emperor Hardin (talk) 06:19, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Do you want me to just upload it to Wikia? Emperor Hardin (talk) 23:35, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

...??? I don't care. L95 (talk) 23:35, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Ok. BTW, was the File:FEPR_Beast_Laguz_M_concept.png, just called Beast Laguz? I ask this because its specifically a Cat Laguz depicted, and there might be Tiger Laguz concept art. Emperor Hardin (talk) 23:47, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Yes. I said this in the upload comment. Same for the bird laguz "[14] Beast Tribe [Laguz]. Gallia has a warmer climate, so the denizens were designed to wear loose clothes with plenty of ventilation to keep cool." and "[19] Bird Tribe [Laguz]. Considering they fly through the sky, they were designed to wear soft and airy clothing."L95 (talk) 23:51, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

I noted that it resembles cat laguz on the file summary if its alright. I also added the bandit concept artwork to the class page's info box. Tell me if you approve? Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:45, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

You don't need to ask for my approval for anything. L95 (talk) 02:01, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Can you help identify Binding Blade portraits

I found a resource with what appears to be pretty much every portrait in Binding Blade, would you be interested in helping identify some of the minor bosses? I think several of them are just recolors used for talking generic units, or unused sprites. Emperor Hardin (talk) 07:13, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

I dunno. L95 (talk) 15:42, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Would you be interested in making them transparent if I identified some, or would you prefer doing it with the Trasparent option in VBA windows? One of the missing portraits(Mini) Thoril is portrait right after Monke, his portrait is directly re-used for five other bosses in the same chapter, so I wonder if we should give it a generic name like the NES bosses? Jahn's mini portrait included on the sprite sheet is missing on this wiki. Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:09, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Just tell me what ones you want transparent, I have a spritesheet with all GBA portraits on my computer already. L95 (talk) 03:44, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

I'd like transparents of:

  • Portrait guerrero fe06.png Guerrero (Usually spelled Gelero): Mini only.
  • Portrait oates fe06.png Oates (AKA Ohtz, or Oatz): Mini only
  • Portrait brakul fe06.png Brakul: Portrait, & Mini, Exact re-use of Thorils.
  • Portrait kudoka fe06.png Kudoka: Portrait, & Mini, Exact re-use of Thorils.
  • Portrait marral fe06.png Marral: Portrait, & Mini, Exact re-use of Thorils.
  • Portrait kabul fe06.png Kabul: Portrait, & Mini, Exact re-use of Thorils.
  • Portrait chan fe06.png Chan: Portrait, & Mini, Exact re-use of Thorils.

While looking at our categories, especially from the SNES games, it seems we generally use different file names even for identical portraits, but you can decide whether to name all those re-uses their indivdiual name, or just make it Portrait_Djute_Tribe_fe06. Emperor Hardin (talk) 04:45, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Oh I thought you wanted transparents of unused portraits. L95 (talk) 01:13, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

You can do transparents of unused portraits too, as well as lesser used portraits like the O'Neill variations used for talking generic fighters. I'm just saying these are the high priority GBA portraits right now. On a related subject, on character gallery templates, where should I put unused battle palettes that were intended to be used in the game. Like in Breguet's sprite gallery, should his central sprite be the unique palette he has, or the generic enemy palette that accidently overrides his unique palette? Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:20, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help! I've been gradually trying to make a page for every chapter in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. I haven't been filling the "Plot" section and I don't know the Japanese names for the chapters. Adding these sections to the chapter pages is very helpful. Anferensis (talk) 05:22, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

You're welcome :) It's perfectly fine if you don't wanna mess with Japanese, but I grab the names from http://fe.mirupage.com/fe7/index.html (if anyone wants a source) L95 (talk) 05:26, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Villager map sprite, if it's playable

Yeah, there's blue in the map sprite. That means playable, or "on the player team"... Say, I think the Stoneborn and Faceless map sprite should be mirrored. --Breakin' Benny (talk) 00:45, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Chrom-right sprite, thanks

I am grateful for your help on Chrom's right-facing portrait, L95. It is satisfying that none of us will need to think further about this.

...By the way, did you notice that the Talk prompt in Before Awakening uses Chrom's right-facing sprite at all times? I've often thought it was laziness, or that they removed the code that checked for if a character has portraits for facing left () or right () since this problem never happened in Fire Emblem Awakening. I personally don't know what really is wrong, just a theory from my knowledge in programming.
As I said before, thanks for the help! ^o^ --Breakin' Benny (talk) 22:35, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Where portraits can be easily found

Hi L95, if you'd like to take care of the Awakening and Fates portraits, you can always look over here. It's the Github for Fire Emblem Fates Text Simulator which is an updated and localized version of the original If version.

It has a bunch of "Not Yet Used" portraits because we have no programmers around to contribute, and the original text simulator hasn't been updated in at least seven months judging by its Github. I hope you don't mind doing what I shouldn't spend so much time on, as I can't really go about uploading the raw and uncompressed portraits myself when I have university work do to. Thanks in advance! --Breakin' Benny (talk) 12:50, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Removing the "as of" on Mae

I removed it because we don't have that for FE11 characters. PikaSamus (talk) 15:39, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Ohh, alright, so we remove them when they have a full appearance in a remake. That, and the as of stuff probably only started with Awakening's guest appearances anyway. L95 (talk) 15:48, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Gaiden nationalities

We should probably work on the nationalities for Gaiden characters. Many characters who had no nationality stated in the original are listed as Zofian here when Saber shows their nationality may be revealed to not be Zofian in the remake. Emperor Hardin (talk) 20:49, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Is there a reason you feel the need to specifically tell me this? Unless you mean you want me to remove the nationalities from some pages, which isn't a bad idea. L95 (talk) 20:50, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Thats what I mean remove nationalities that aren't stated in the original. While we can count people in the Zofian or Rigelian armies as part of the nationality, people like mercenaries and travelers have no known nationality. Like I just removed Kamui being Zofian as his only background is being a mercenary hired by Valbar, meaning he could came from anywhere. Same should apply to people like Leon, all we know is he's a friend of Valbar(unknown nationality) and followed him to avenge his family. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:15, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

You don't need to explain yourself to me...? Is there a reason you ask me things? This wiki is for anyone to edit... Especially to fix issues I've introduced L95 (talk) 02:21, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

I just wanted to make sure, I think I just removed all of the speculated nationalities, for the playable cast at least. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:34, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Instant reaction?

Forgive my curiosity, but you seem to have a strange ability to edit pages I make as soon as I make them. Do you have a little thing that goes *ding* whenever someone makes a page on this site? Infernape612 (talk) 00:52, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

No, it's just coincidence. I'd just finished up the Thabes page, and the recent changes pages is more of my homepage than the actual home page. We may also be on similar timezones, as to why I happen to be on at the same time? L95 (talk) 00:56, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for sticking my nose where I'm not called (don't know if this is accepted here, at least it was in my first wikis), but I checked a map and the places where you live in are quite close to each other --Unnamedgoon (talk) 01:39, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Are all the epilogue stuff unlockable in the european version of fe7?

Hi, L95. I had a question. Is it possible to view all of the epilogue stuff in the european version of fe7 if you simply just import a save file of the japanese or us version of the game with the epilogue stuff unlocked? Mr. Kite (talk) 03:34, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

I dunno L95 (talk) 04:03, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

The growth rates for some of the characters from Sacred Stones listed on different fire emblem websites is inconsistent

Hi, L95. I was looking at the growth rates for a few characters from Sacred Stones on this website and on SerenesForest and fireemblem.wikia and noticed that characters like Ephiram and Colm have different growth rates between these websites. I think it`s because since in the localization version of sacred stones altered many of the stats in the game that there`s inconsistent growth rates listed on these sites. Mr. Kite (talk) 04:17, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Why are you telling me this L95 (talk) 15:20, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
I mean is it okay if I just fix these stats myself on this website? Mr. Kite (talk) 00:05, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
You don't need to ask anybody's permission to make edits; if you make a mistake, it's easy for someone else to come along and fix them later. I would recommend using Serenes Forest as a source rather than the wikia, since SF is more likely to be accurate and reliable. I think we should also add the Japanese growth rates, too (something like {{hover|90|85% in the Japanese version}} for Seth's HP growth, for example). If you want to do those, you can find the Japanese growth rates on Pegasus Knight here; just run them through Google Translate or something if you can't read the names. --Moydow (Support) 00:28, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Oh, okay. Thank you. Mr. Kite (talk) 01:30, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

TRS Talk

I know some of the unused classes include a Sword/Axe mounted class with a dismounted forms that uses the same weapons, as well as Squire, and Marksman(a second Sniper). Another unfinished class is a burly figure in armor with swords and anima magic, while it has no name at least in the fan translation, I've reason to believe its Baron. I've also read about a Demo version with multiplayer teams that include units not in the final game. Emperor Hardin (talk) 07:18, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Do you want a link for the Demo teams, I was thinking maybe you could help record the the unused characters and character differences, as well as listing the units on the Demo teams. Emperor Hardin (talk) 07:31, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Warriors sprites

I'm not sure who to approach about this, but I noticed that the sprites and portraits from the 3DS version were recently uploaded here. Do we want to use these, maybe as placeholders until someone rips the Switch version? Fastesthe1 (talk) 04:09, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Oh, sweet, yeah, these'll probably be great. I'll tell Moydow about them right away so he can have his magical robot upload them L95 (talk) 04:20, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
