Martha (マルサ, Marusa) is an alternate identity of Marth revealed in Fire Emblem: Kakusei. Although she is the daughter of King Cornelius and Liza, Martha was raised as a son so that she could inherent the throne someday. To this effect King Cornelius summoned a powerful mage who used dark magic to transform Martha into a boy when she was just three years old. It is also revealed in Kakusei that the spell used in the transformation does not hold indefinitely and will weaken with time, as it completely wears off after Krom's forces defeat Geriba.
