Classes

Dark Knight

Main article: Dark Knight (Mystery of the Emblem)

The class's intended purpose is unknown, but it is speculated that it may have been implemented as a personal class for Camus, who ended up being a Paladin in the finished product (as well as in his other Archanean appearances). If the class was indeed intended for Camus, it is unknown if it would have been used exclusively in his normal persona in Book 1, or if he would have also used it in his Sirius persona in Book 2.

If cheated into the game, it has a unique map sprite, but uses the Cavalier's sprite in battle. Its non-moving map sprite will not display on most maps, the first book's fifth chapter being an example of one in which it does display. The Dark Knight cannot dismount, so if it is indoors, it cannot move.

Sprites

Guardian

Main article: Guardian (Mystery of the Emblem)

Its appearance is taken from that of a General, with gray armor. The Guardian's map sprite depicts the class carrying a lance, despite the fact that the Guardian is not known to be able to wield weapons of any type.

Sprites

Sea Dragon

Main article: Sea Dragon

Many of its map animations are still in the game, though only one frame of its idle animation remains. Its moving map sprite resembles a sea serpent in appearance, while its battle sprite is the same as a Fire Dragon. It can move freely in seas, similarly to Pirates.

As it is a dragon class, it may have been intended to be usable as a manakete transformation; however, no transformation stone that would allow for such a transformation survives in the game's code, though a leftover name string in the game's debug menu, the (Japanese: かいりゅうせき Sea Dragonstone),[1] suggests there was one in development at some point. No breath weapon, existing or otherwise, is known to be associated with the class. However, it can use any breath that is cheated into its inventory.
