Unforgivable Sin (Japanese: 許されざる罪 Unforgivable Sin) is the fifth chapter of part 4 of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. In this chapter, Tibarn and his army finally strike down Izuka, the insane creator of the Feral Ones.

As Tibarn's army continues to travel to the Tower of Guidance, they take a short break in the woods. At night, when most are sleeping, he speaks with Elincia about Almedha and Pelleas (the latter only if he was spared). Tibarn remarks that he initially doubted that Almedha was really Dheginsea's daughter, but came to believe it after seeing how fierce she truly was. Elincia, on the other hand, noticed how similar she and Kurthnaga looked and acted. Tibarn then notes that laguz mainly identify others through scent, as well as that Almedha lacked a distinct beorc or laguz scent. Elincia then remarks that Almedha lost her powers when she became pregnant with Pelleas. Tibarn recounts an old song telling how, if a laguz and a beorc produced a child, the laguz parent would be punished, becoming something that was neither laguz nor beorc. Suddenly, Count Bastian returns to Elincia from his long disappearance. Using flowery language, he then asks Tibarn, Elincia, and Reyson to speak with him in private. Elincia is then led to Geoffrey, Volke, and a mysterious hooded man. Volke announces that "their captive" has disappeared, and Bastian pays him to recapture him. Bastian then asks Reyson and Tibarn to instead meet after they recover the escaped captive. He then takes the hooded man away, leading Elincia and Lucia to wonder about the man's identity.
The next morning, Geoffrey begins his hunt for the escapee, asking Tibarn and Ranulf to assist him. When Elincia and Lucia see him up so early, he bolts away, and the two follow him. When they catch up to the force, they find a horde of Feral Ones being controlled by a strange man; Bastian clarifies that this man is Izuka, their escapee, and that he is the creator of the process of turning laguz into Feral Ones. Tibarn is infuriated by Izuka and threatens his life, while Izuka rebuffs him and calls the Feral Ones "humanity's greatest triumph." Elincia then orders the army to strike him down.
After Izuka dies, his "creations" soon follow. With him out of the way, Reyson sings a galdr for the repose of the laguz that were harmed by Izuka's practices. Jorge then calls Bastian, alerting him that the hooded man is out of control, and Daniel is unable to hold him down. As Bastian and the others go to the hooded man, he is revealed to be none other than Duke Renning, Elincia's uncle, albeit with his mind broken by the Feral One drugs. Away from Renning, Bastian reveals that Renning survived Daein's attempts on his life, and, when Ashnard heard of this, he was kidnapped and fed the drug, turning into Bertram, one of the Four Riders. After Betram's defeat in the previous war, Bastian took him to his castle, and hired Volke to investigate into a cure for him. Volke and Bastian then later captured Izuka and interrogated him, where he unsuccessfully attempted to barter his freedom by offering to create an antidote. When Bastian is done speaking, Elincia asks Reyson to sing the galdr of rebirth to Renning to heal his mind. Confident in his ability, boosted further by the order granted by Ashera, Reyson then sings the galdr, returning Renning's sanity. Tibarn and Reyson then speak together, musing how they find it more difficult to see Ashera as a villain when her power aided in healing Renning.
Beginning log
Tibarn's group passes quickly through Salmo, drawing steadily closer to the imperial capital. The hardships of the journey lead the group to overcome their racial differences, and form bonds of friendship and trust. However, Almedha, the queen mother of Daein, remains alone and aloof, lost in thoughts of her own. Her son, Pelleas, also seems to guard some secret thought, tucked deep within his heart.
