The Umbral Beast is a monster class which debuted in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It is used exclusively by Aelfric in his appearance as the final boss of the Cindered Shadows expansion. It is the result of Aelfric's failed attempt to trigger the Rite of Rising causing the Chalice of Beginnings to consume both him and Sitri's corpse.
Though the Umbral Beast lacks proper programmed stats, it is physically strong, having high strength as well as four large health bars, which are bolstered further by its high defense and a strong barrier. It is additionally capable of restoring its own health by stealing it from Phantoms, which it can summon each turn. Its offenses are also rather potent, with its high strength being bolstered later by Death Blow, and its attacks are made even more accurate by Hit +20 later. It also boasts a highly dangerous Staggering Blow which can hit everywhere on the map at once. It is held back by low speed and resistance, as well as a low charm compared to other boss-exclusive monsters.
