Tyrhung (ティルフィング, Tirufingu) is the sword once wielded by Baldo of the Twelve Crusaders, bestowed upon him at the Miracle of Darna after his blood-bond with a dragon. The blade is the property of Baldo's descendants, the heirs of the Chalphy dukedom of Grandbell, and can only be wielded by those in possession of major Baldo Holy Blood. When equipped, the wielder gains a bonus of ten points to Skill, ten points to Speed, twenty points to Resistance, and the Prayer skill.
When Grandbell goes to war with Isaac, the then duke of Chalphy, Vylon, takes the blade with him and uses it in the war. It is broken after his betrayal by Reptor and Langobalt and, badly wounded, he nonetheless eludes capture to bring the weapon's remains to his son Siglud, dying after handing it over. Siglud has the remains repaired, then uses the blade in his confrontation with Langobalt, Reptor and Andorey. After Siglud's death in the Battle of Barhara, his killer Lord Alvis takes possession of the Tyrhung, where it remains unused for seventeen years.
As Celice's liberation army makes its way through the Miletos district, Alvis arrives at Chalphy and entrusts the blade to its Bishop Palmark, encouraging him to flee with children captured by the empire. Celice's army soon rescues Palmark's group as they fled north, and Palmark passes the Tyrhung on to Celice, who uses it in the final confrontation with the Grandbell Empire and its Prince Yurius.
