Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Troude will be the last of four Sword Fighters you recruit in Thracia 776, but he is oddly disappointing.
His base stats are really mediocre by the time you recruit him, which just puts him farther behind both Mareeta and Shiva. He just falls short to the other Sword Fighters you have recruited previously and does little to make up for it. Compared with Mareeta and Shiva, he has a lower FCM, a worse skill, and a much harder recruitment requirement. In fact, if you decide to use a specific strategy to clear chapter 12x involving warping Lara to Perne on turn 1 and thus making the chapter obsolete, Troude makes a run for the exit, making the only realistic way to recruit him to be using a charge of Salem's sleep staff, which is a pretty awful trade-off.

The most valuable thing that Troude offers when recruiting him is the silver sword he carries, but even this could be given to another sword user and draws away from Troude's viability as a unit. He also sports the Nihil skill, but this is widely perceived to be weaker than Shiva's Sol or Mareeta's Luna. Troude's only noteworthy advantage is his relatively high base build of 9, which will not do enough to make up for his fundamental shortcomings. While Troude may have some potential should the player decide to raise him, he is almost guaranteed to fall short to both Mareeta and Shiva.

Troude is largely redundant - he offers little in comparison to the other Sword Fighters available in Thracia 776.
