— Tristan

(Japanese: トリスタン Tristan) is the son of a Cross Knight of Nordion, and the elder brother of Janne. He and Janne were orphaned in their infancy during the wars in Agustria and were adopted by Sigurd's army, later fleeing with Oifey, Shanan and Seliph to Tirnanog, during which Janne was lost.[1] Growing up as a warrior under Oifey's tutelage, he was later one of the first members of Seliph's liberation army in Grann 777.

Tristan is Delmud's substitute character, filling his role in the story and gameplay if Lachesis died or failed to be married in the course of the first generation.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

Role

Tristan and Lester/Dimna were on a scouting mission outside of Isaach with Oifey when the Dozel army launched an assault on Tirnanog, but arrived early on in the battle to assist Seliph in combating the occupation.

Personality and character

Tristan has little patience for dealing with Roddlevan for reasons unknown; he treats Roddlevan's attempts to initate conversation with hostile disinterest, and readily snaps at him over the littlest things.[2]

  1. "Our father was a knight of the Nordion Kingdom. He died in battle during the upheaval in Agustria. You and I were still pretty young then. Sir Sigurd's army ended up taking us in, but we lost track of you while fleeing to Isaach." — Tristan, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
  2. "Roddlevan: Hey, Tristan. I got something to ask ya.
    Tristan: Oh... it's you. What?
Roddlevan: Hey, show a guy a little respect, would ya? Anyway, I was just thinking. Do you think we're holding Sir Seliph back any?
Tristan: We? Don't you mean YOU? I'm holding up my own out here.
Roddlevan: Is that so? Alright, let me hear what you've done so far.
Tristan: Ah, well... You know, I've... um...
Roddlevan: See there? That's just what I'm saying. You can't think of anything, can ya?
Tristan: Alright, alright! So what's your point?
Roddlevan: Let's get a little dueling practice in. I want to move up to the front line! I doubt I'd learn a whole lot from you, but I'll do anything to avoid getting castle duty!
Tristan: You know you've got a real crappy way of asking someone a favour? Just forget it.
Roddlevan: Oh, c'mon! Look... Would you pretty please be my sparring partner with sugar on top? How about that!?
Tristan: Where the hell do you get off!? Okay, I'll fight you... only to shut you up! You ready?
