Trial Maps is one of a number of types of Fire Emblem Heroes's Special Maps. Trial Maps are similar to Event Maps and likewise are are made available for a limited period of time and reward Orbs upon their completion, one Orb per map per difficulty; Trial Maps are themed to an artist or developer who worked on Heroes. To date, two artists and nine developers have contributed to Trial Maps.

All Trial Maps to date have taken place on maps in the Arena rotation.

Note that the term "Trial Map" is a fan-created moniker, and they are only ever referred to as "Special Maps" in-game.

Note: All date ranges mentioned below begin at 7:00 AM UTC on the first listed date and end at 6:59 AM UTC on the second listed date unless otherwise noted.

Kozaki Yusuke

All five of these maps ran from May 24, 2017 through June 8, 2017. This trial took place on a slightly-reordered original Arena Rotation 1 (the first half of the current Arena Rotation 1).

None of the characters used in this challenge were actually designed by Kozaki Yusuke, as no character original to Heroes appears as an enemy in this challenge, and the Brave Princess variant of Lucina had yet to be designed when this challenge ran.

Yamada Kotaro

All five of these maps ran from July 11, 2017 through July 25, 2017. This trial took place on the original Arena Rotation 3 (the first half of the current Arena Rotation 2).

Developer Challenge (1)

Each of the maps in this challenge are themed to one of the developers of the game, with five different developers represented in the set. This set of maps are the first Trial Maps to include a Lunatic difficulty, and thus offers more Orbs than previous Trial Maps.

All five of these maps ran from October 21, 2017 through November 4, 2017. This trial uses maps from the original Arena Rotations 2, 3, and 4 (now among the current Arena Rotations 2 and 3).

Each of the maps in this challenge are themed to one of the developers of the game, with five different developers represented in the set. The fifth map of this challenge makes ryo the first member of the Heroes staff to be represented in two different challenges, having been represented prior in the fifth map of Developer Challenge

All five of these maps ran from December 12, 2017 through January 1, 2018. This trial uses maps from the original Arena Rotations 1 and 4 (now in the first half of the current Arena Rotation 1 and the second half of the current Rotation 3); the first and fourth maps of the challenge both share the same map of the fifth map of original Arena Rotation 4 (now the tenth map of current Arena Rotation 3).
