Thyrsus

Thyrsus (pronounced /'θɝsɪs/[key], Japanese: テュルソスの杖 Thyrsos Staff) is a staff that first appeared in the main Fire Emblem series in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. In that game, it is one of the Heroes' Relics, and is tied to the Crest of Gloucester. It provides a huge boost to the user's range with magic; if the user bears the Crest of Gloucester, it also grants Pavise and Aegis.
Thyrsus's overall debut was as a Carnage in the spin-off game Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, where it is a rod Carnage available to Kiria Kurono, and only available if her Mirage, Tharja, has been made a Sorcerer. It has the effect of draining force damage, but lacks other special effects outside its granted skills.

Trivia
- Thyrsus, along with Asclepius and Caduceus, are the first weapons to debut in the Fire Emblem series as Carnages in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE and later reappear in another game. All of them are rod Carnages associated with Kiria Kurono in Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and appear as staves in Three Houses.
- In Three Houses, Lorenz (if not recruited in Part I) will not have Thyrsus in his possession if encountered as an enemy in Part II, presumably because he is encounters in a class that cannot use magic. This contrasts most other unrecruited characters, who wield their Heroes' Relics when encountered as enemies in Part II.
