The Seacomers is the twelfth chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. In this chapter, Valmese forces have arrived at Port Ferox at roughly the same time as the Shepherds. The Shepherds have to defend Port Ferox from the Valmese forces.

The Seacomers/Script
The leader of the Valmese forces, Dalton, demands that the citizens of Ylisse submit to Emperor Walhart and surrender their ships, possessions, and the Fire Emblem to him. When questioned by a villager, Dalton kills him on the spot. Chrom readies his troops for battle, aware that fighting here could spark a war with Valm, but resolute that he must oppose evil in any form.
Once the battle ends, it becomes apparent that the battle left both the town and the Feroxi army in shambles. Basilio concludes that it would be impossible to fight Valm's whole army on the continent and protect its citizens. Robin formulates that the best place to fight the Valmese would be at sea, where their cavalry aren't a threat, and that Plegia could sponsor their needed warships, due to Plegia's great wealth and sea access. Chrom initially refuses, but is convinced by Basilio, Flavia, and Robin to request assistance from Pelgia.
Frederick informs Chrom that Plegia has sent word back, agreeing to meet them at Carrion Isle. While the location is disadvantageous, Chrom concludes that Plegia will help due to Valm being a threat to Plegia as well.
Summary
At Port Ferox, Chrom's men and the Feroxi barely repel the fierce Valmese attack. In need of ships to drive Valm off, they turn to an unlikely ally for help.

Trivia
- Discounting the bonus unit merchant mechanic, the shop at Port Ferox is only the second in the entire Fire Emblem series capable of selling any type of dragonstone (the first is a secret shop in chapter 14 of Book 2 of Mystery of the Emblem and its remake).
- This chapter's pre-battle cutscene features an NPC with a unique sprite. While this sprite is not used anywhere else in Awakening, it was later reused as the generic Villager sprite in Fire Emblem Warriors.
