Byleth

The Instructor (Japanese: 導き手 Guiding hand) is the sixth paralogue chapter of Fire Emblem Engage, unlocked upon the completion of Chapter 14. As a paralogue chapter, its events are not integral to the game's main storyline and can be done at the player's leisure. In this chapter, Alear takes on a challenge from Emblem Byleth in a place familiar to him in order to deepen their bonds.

Plot

Main article: The Instructor/Script

Alear enters a strange temple in Elusia, where they notice a throne in its far back. Byleth notices the location's similarities to the Holy Tomb from his home world. He explains that it is the goddess Sothis's resting place and that, there, Saint Seiros received a revelation from her to save and lead the people of Fódlan. Byleth then suggests Alear fight them in a trial, both so he can appraise their power and to strengthen their bonds, which Alear accepts.

Exhausted, Alear manages to defeat Byleth, who praises their fighting skill. Alear in turn thanks Byleth for their teaching, though he responds that they already had great raw skill from the previous choices they had made through their life. Alear expresses worry about one day making a wrong choice, but Byleth assures them that their true nature, as well as the aid of himself and their friends, will guide them along the correct path.
