Plot

Main article: The Blood-Stained Lance/Script

Cornelia and Viscounts Mateus, Gideon, and Elidure muster their forces for a rebellion, forcing Baron Dominic into their service. The Blue Lions realize that Baron Dominic would have lacked the military might to resist being made to oppose the king, and may be convinced to turn back to their side. Dimitri elects to convince Baron Dominic to turn back to their side and wipe out the rebel leaders, crushing the revolt in one fell swoop. He also receives the support of the soldiers of Duscur thanks to the efforts he, Dedue, and Rodrigue have made towards repatriation. As the Kingdom army moves to battle the rebellion, they receive word that Imperial forces under Edelgard's personal command are attempting to reclaim Arundel territory and Arianrhod. Seteth suggests that Dimitri send the Knights of Seiros to reinforce Arundel while he and the Lions pacify the rebellion, a suggestion Dimitri takes.

Shortly before the battle, Shez notes that Arval is obsessed with their conflict with Byleth; Arval admits that they feel like they are destined to battle them. Gustave successfully convinces Baron Dominic to join them, and together the Kingdom army eradicates the rebels, including Count Rowe, and mortally wounds Cornelia. Under interrogation, Cornelia claims that Patricia participated in the Tragedy of Duscur and the former King Lambert's assassination only to be murdered by Edelgard; Cornelia then succumbs to her wounds. Dimitri remains suspicious of her claims, but decides that the only way to get answers is to confront Edelgard. Leaving the west in the hands of Gustave and Baron Dominic, the Lions set out for Arianrhod.
