The Bandits of Borgo/Script
Eirika and Seth are in pursuit of the thief who stole Eirika's bracelet the previous night. They have managed to track the man to the hideout of Bazba's Bandits by piecing together testimony from the nearby villages. Before they march towards the hideout, Eirika laments the lawlessness Renais has descended into as a result of Grado's attack. Seth adds that with no soldiers of Renais left to punish bandits and Grado’s refusal to maintain order, the citizenry will continue to suffer with no end in sight.
Suddenly, a pink-haired archer by the name of Neimi approaches the group. She asks if Eirika's group is a band of mercenaries. Before Eirika can respond, Neimi begins to tearfully beg her friend Colm. Once she calms down a little, Neimi explains that she and Colm come from a village called Lark that was completely destroyed by Bazba’s Bandits and that they were the only survivors of the attack. Colm pursued the bandits to their hideout to retrieve something they stole from her, leaving Neimi concerned that he might end up dead against such a dangerous foe. Eirika agrees to help Neimi as they have a similar destination and the princess cannot ignore the plight of her countrymen. In return for Eirika’s assistance, Neimi offers her skills with a bow. With a new ally in tow, Eirika begins her assault on the bandit’s fortress.
During the battle, Colm sneaks into the fortress and begins to steal the treasure of the bandits. Neimi quickly spots Colm and approaches him. She begs him to forget the mirror that the bandits stole and come home with her. Colm harshly responds that they have no home and tells Neimi that she is too much of a klutz to accompany him on a stealth mission. Neimi begins to cry, instantly causing Colm's attitude to change. Colm tells her to remain by his side and he carries on with his mission.
After the Eirika seizes the throne, Neimi begins to cry again and makes Colm promise to stop doing such dangerous stuff by himself. Colm, wanting Neimi to stop crying, agrees to her demands and reveals that he managed to retrieve her mother’s mirror. Seth suddenly interrupts the reunion of the two and demands that Colm return Eirika's bracelet which Colm does after observing Seth's threatening presence. Seth lectures Colm, telling him that if he cares for Neimi, he will choose to lead his life differently. Seth's lecture prompts Colm to request to join Eirika's ranks. Seth defers the decision to Eirika, who accepts the two into her company. Seth then returns the bracelet to Eirika while also reminding her that she must never lose it, no matter what. Eirika asks why the bracelet is so important, but Seth does not answer. Despite Seth’s response, she chooses to believe in her trusted knight and does not demand an answer.
Meanwhile, at Grado keep, the Imperial Three—Duessel, Selena, and Glen—have been called for an audience with King Vigarde. Before they see the king, the three discuss the sorrowful state of Renais. Glen and Duessel wonder what the king could possibly be thinking with his invasion of Renais and letting its citizens fall prey to bandits. They also question Vigarde's recent choices in promotions. Selena quells their worries by reminding them that as servants of the king, it is not their place to question his orders. The three proceed to the throne room and are greeted by Vigarde. The king then proceeds to announce promotions of soldiers whose performance in the invasion of Renais was notable and will be of great service to his goal of conquering all of Magvel. These soldiers are Valter, Riev, and Caellach. The King's new promotions are each assigned a duty alongside the Imperial Three. Selena and Caellach are assigned the task of conquering Frelia, Duessel and Riev are assigned to defend Grado, and Glen and Valter are assigned to capture Eirika and Ephraim.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
This chapter is very straight forward: move towards the throne and kill all units in your way. Remember to recruit Colm when he appears on turn 2 by talking to him with Neimi. While you can create a path by destroying sections of the walls, it would probably be inefficient and waste time. You do not need to send Colm to unlock the southern chest because the brigand next to it will drop a chest key.
