This trial ran from July 7, 2021 through July 19, 2021. It was available in seven difficulty, level, and battle number combinations, three Normal difficulty options (all with three battles each, but with varying enemy levels), two Hard difficulty options (four and five battles each), and two Lunatic difficulty options (five and seven battles each).
The maps of paralogues 36 and 48 are available for random selection in the first two, three, four, or six battles, depending on difficulty and player's preference, preceding the final battle, which takes place on a fixed map.

Trivia
- Ninja Novices is the first installment of the Tempest storyline in which its boss lacks both assist and special skills on all difficulties, despite having one in their base kit (in this case, the special skill Moonbow and its base form New Moon).
- Burden of Gifts is the first installment of the Tempest storyline in which its boss lacks a type of passive skill in their base kit, in this case a type-B, and does not have the corresponding slot filled with another skill on any difficulty; the previous bosses that lacked full passive kits on any difficulty, which were all also armored units, packed a standalone type-B skill not part of a family in their base kit but did not utilize it in the Trial.
- It is also the first Trial not of the original full-fledged type (which had a 99,999 point plateau) to include a prize reward involving a number of points that is not a multiple of 50; in this case, the Dark Blessing is offered at 12,499 points, just one point less than the Light Blessing at 12,500 (a normal plateau in the Tempest Trials+ format).
- Lost to Love, added to the game in the same update that made the Summoner a partially-playable character, is the first installment of the Trials in which the Summoner is known to have directly participated; notably, the Summoner's non-playable "Near and Dear" variation is this trial's boss.
- It is also the first trial to make usage of the "Ranged flight" category of characters as an allocation for one of the randomized enemies for its final map; this is despite it having been an eligible category since the last full-fledged two-week trial being the first trial since a summonable character's normal variation fell into that category (female Morgan in the The True Quarry update). As a normal variation of only one other eligible character has been ranged flight since then up to the start of Lost to Love (all other summonable ranged flight characters by that point were either seasonal or other non-primary character variations, or in one case a normal-variation staff user), this makes it the smallest-ever random pool ever drawn for a slot in a Tempest Trial.
- Ice & Flame 1 is the first instance of a brand-new character being introduced into the Fire Emblem series as a whole as part of Heroes's Tempest storyline.
